I see focus on Birth of a Nation, a movie coming out this year.

How high was Miller when he made Beyond Thunderdrome? Lawd. Still love it tho. A female villain for the next Mad Max film would be cool tho.

Re-watching "Gargoyles". Great, great show. Keith David is awesome.Moving on to "Spawn" after that.

I like the art style for Gargoyles, but I can't bring myself to sit through it.

I think AquaMomoa fills the bass player role fine.
Superman for the guitar.

That seems fitting.

And Hal Jordan on a triangle. :p

You know when you're not sure if you watched a certain show as a kid and have since forgotten about it or you simply learned about it recently, but for some reason believe you have seen it before? That is the case with me and "Gargoyles".

It looks like something I'd watch as a kid, though.

Hal will be bored.
They should occupy him by making him provide the instruments, equipment, and stage.

Or take them all into space, create the largest sound system possible and have Justice League replace "Disaster Area" as the loudest rock band in the galaxy.

I did smoke some stuff so...smoke filled thoughts.

I can help but imagine that BvS would be considered a weird cult classic had it been done in the late 70s/80s. Hell, even in the early 90s. lol

But cult classics don't become "cult classics" over night. I mean Blade Runner took about 20 years to get the love it richly deserves.

That is what i'm trying to say. BvS made in any of those decades till now. Hell, B89 or Superman The Movie would not get love today. Eh, just my smoke mind lol again, a lot of films I feel get love today cause they did it first. I'm just bitter I never got a Dark Knight returns film starring Clint Eastwood and directed by Carpenter.

I think part of the reason BVS has been received so harshly is because it's thirty years too late. The sensibilities of the film are the same as classics like The Dark Knight Returns and The Killing Joke, but those stories rose to prominence in a time where their thematic approach represented a fresh perspective.

Today, those ideas have been iterated on endlessly for thirty years even before BVS. It doesn't help that BVS is inferior to the stories it's trying to emulate.

The famed "deconstructions" of the superhero genre, like Watchmen and those mentioned above, were powerful in their day because they illuminated corners of their characters and concepts that had previously been unseen. BVS illuminates corners that have been well lit for thirty years, so there's no novelty or intrigue in the effort. The deconstruction also happens to be fairly inept, which doesn't help.

I think BvS will be much more appreciated as time goes on,and will become a cult classic(more-so if the dceu hits off) like Watchmen.

I can see that, I think when Justice League is out people will have the whole story and that can make you look at things differently.

Exactly. We saw how much better the UC was received, and the home video sales speak for themselves.Topping it 4 weeks in a row is no mean feat.
