I just want to start off by saying the whole critics is paid by marvel thang is bs, but could we all agree that they were soft on Ghostbusters?

That film is gahbage.

Hell, I saw a lot of women pundits on yt channels trying to excuse this mess. Yes, we need more women lead films etc, but GOOD ones not gahbage.

That's because if you gave a negative review of it, you'd get bombarded with criticism from feminazis (not feminists, there's a difference between the two) calling you sexist and what not.

Of course, that's only if you're a man.

I'll watch something like the Alien franchise, something starring a badass woman, with solid-great characterization for most characters.

You don't have to push an agenda in order to deliver great female characters. James Cameron delivered that in spades with Ridley and Sarah Connor.

In my opinion Bridesmaids is the only decent Paul Feig movie.

Feig believes that the only way to make women look smart and competent is to make the men around them stupid and incompetent. His movies are horrible. Bridesmaids is a pretty s***y movie, the second half of that movie is a grind.

The whole marketing situation leading up to the movie was just toxic from both extremes (feminazis defending it and people hating the crap out of the trailers).

Sony pretty much capitalized on the negative response.

Eh, I liked all of his movies other than Ghosbusters. I see what you mean about male characters being silly but for years it was another way around in cinema so it doesn't really bother me.

Nah! Just cause you didn't like the Ghostbusters remake (which I haven't seen yet), doesn't mean that some of the critics who gave it good reviews were being soft. Maybe they liked it, or just thought it was okay.
