There is a lot of truth in this image.

To quote men in black.

A person is smart. People, are dumb, panicky dangerous animals.

Politically motivated public hysteria is the name of the game.

Our politicians have become celebrities, – and are celebrities have become politicians! We truly live in bizarro land.

In a world where people root for political parties as if they were sports teams, you know We are in trouble The people need to demand more of their civil servants. This is not a game, this is our lives. When either side wins, we all lose.

Stay independent my friends...

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming

I really like Wonder Woman movie but I don't want Wonder Woman to get nominations for 'Best Director', 'Best Picture' and 'Best Actor' category, as it does not deserve them and it would just invite more backlash and hatred from those who hate -

1. Wonder Woman movie.
2. Wonder Woman as a character (remember UN women staffers ?)
3. Hate Gal Gadot.
4. Hate DC movies.

I had enough of this whole 'hate business'. I would be happy if the movie gets nominated in some technical category like for 'Costume designing' or 'Sound mixing'. If it doesn't get any, I don't care.

Yup. And if WB pushes it too much, people will start turning the other way and say "Meh. It's not THAAAAAT good."

More importantly women in general.

I've been putting off re-watching it on Blu-Ray. Can't bear to have my heart broken again. Especially at that cross scene when the music swells. Gah. :csad:

I've seen it FIVE times :funny:

Shouldn't that first reason be enough? That second thing is like saying Moonlight shouldn't have been nominated because it would invite backlash from people who hate black people, or Brokeback Mountain because of hate against gays.

In the fair world it would be enough. But this is the world where Redmayne wins over Keaton.

X-23 annoyed me for more than half of that movie.

superhero movies are some of my favorite movies, but imo they aren't oscar level movies. and it does not matter.

the test of time and audience appreciation validates these movies, the amount of oscar awards do not validate them.

have many of your favorite movies of all time won oscar awards?

STM, 3 LoTR movies and TDK and SS. :o

But yeah, we don't need Oscar awards to validate these movies.

That's a fair point. Out of my top 10 I think only Black Swan and Pulp Fiction

WW likely won't receive nominations in any of those categories; and, if by some miracle it does, who cares about the potential backlash? Criticism follows just about anything one ever does publicly. You just have to learn to tune out the noise, or avoid places (online) where it's loudest.

Sorry. :O

He didn't go on a killing screaming "HAAAHH" a lot in a screeching voice for more than one hour before he finally talks.

So no

It's not X-23's fault that "HAAAHH" was in her script. :yay:

Oscars are more than millionaire strokefests. Not everyone in Hollywood comes from money. For every actor, writer and director that stands up their getting millions there were at least 10 years of homelessness, ramen every night and rejection. Winning an Oscar legitimatizes a person's career. Its the mark of that next stage of a person's career.

Zack posts a pic with him, Clay Enos and Deborah captioned "On set" and people start losing their minds ("The Lord is back!!", "The Lord has cometh!!" and other things); love it :ilv:
