Tobe Hooper

RIP.

The man gave us two of the best horror films ever.

I'm so bummed by this. I'm going to be a goddamn mess when Carpenter and Scorsese die.

People don't give LIFEFORCE enough credit. That's some crazy ****.

Lifeforce is a mess imo. Hooper had more duds than hits, and technically he didn't direct Poltergeist, but Texas chainsaw is a great film.

Awesome! :woot:

it was an entertaining fight. wish the ref didn't stop it and let it go on longer though.

but i expected mayweather to win.
mcgregor lasted longer than probably many expected though.

McGregor was out on his feet in round 9... in 10, one more punch and he was on the floor. I wanted McGregor to win because Mayweather hits women, but it is what it is. Connor won rounds 1-5 IMO. Ran out of gas.

Or "bollocksed", as McGregor called it. He was also drinking from his own brand of whiskey at the press conference. Turn a negative into a positive.

I'm rewatching GOTG 2 right now. Only saw it once in theaters and was super underwhelmed. Figured I'd rent and give it another try, but man, this movie is too much of a joke fest. I'm not saying I don't like comedy in movies, but nearly EVERY serious moment so far has been instantly undercut with a joke. It's almost like they're afraid to let the story get dramatic or have any weight to it.

I could watch it for free right now and literally don't want to. And that's not even because I can't stand Chris Pratt, just wasting time on another 2h forgettable flick from Marvel just seems so uninteresting to me

I got it in my hard drive and haven't felt like watching it at all...which is sad because I loved the first one so much...:csad:

GOTG 2 was pretty good. I didn't feel like I'd wasted my time.

I have a question about "Enemy".

Are all the scenes with Mary a fantasy, based on a past relationship with that woman ? When she sees the wedding ring mark and freaks out, is it Adam/Anthony finally coming to his senses and realizing "What am I doing? I have a pregnant wife waiting for me at home. This must stop!" ? If not and it was all real, how come she never noticed the mark on his finger before ?

So I just saw Batman & Harley Quinn, by the end I was like "Really??"

It wasn't really terrible, or maybe it was?? It had some funny moments, some nice fights and one really cool moment that stuck with me, but then it was just "meh"...

DC animated movies have been a bit of a letdown for a while now, can't remember the last really awesome one.

I don't remember the movie well enough, but I once wrote this -

The ring thing is apparently the only thing that confused both me and the readers in the comment section.

I really liked it, the jokes landed well for me, and none of the threads felt off for me. [BLACKOUT]Except for Nightwing panicking and changing from dodge to block once he saw the cracked pavement, that is stupid.[/BLACKOUT]

No, but now that you mention it, I could easily see him in the role.
He kind reminds me of him. Been a few years since I last saw that movie, and since I don't hate it, I might watch it when I eventually do an X-Men movie marathon.

Rewatched '500 days of summer' last night and goddamn, what a great movie.

The expectation/reality sequence is still one GOAT scene. Emotional hnnngh.

500 days of summer and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, two films that cut too deep to watch them. Too close to my real life relationships.

Agreed, that movie was just so real, we've all been there. :csad:

I wonder what chaos will be unleashed this week when it comes to DC.

I haven't seen a lot of the recent ones. I remember I really liked All-Star Superman, but that must be at least 5 years old.

I liked JLD. It was a solid flick.
