Agreed. Though I will say that Suicide Squad is my least favorite of the bunch.

I'd agree with that but I still like it a lot. It's got great characters in a poor story. I'd rank the DCEU films so far:

1) Man of Steel
2) Wonder Woman
3) BvS UE
4) Suicide Squad

I believe Mike is sometimes hyperbolic but sometimes he's really brutal. Like when he's talking about Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and he's like, paraphrasing, "you can find all the basic filmmaking mistakes in that film". I think I'll ask him to do a masterclass just about dissecting these modern comicbook films.

Btw, an interesting observation about that Planet Earth video is, that clip has so much drama in it, yet you don't need any character development or any "characters" at all for that, there's just snakes and a hatchling.

I already own like 15 of his classes and they are great, they are mainly about film scoring and composing "old-school/golden era/symphonic structure" music, but he often talks about a lot of different things. Very insightful and interesting even when one does not agree with him. He has some free classes on youtube too.

I personally see BvS, very much a continuation of MOS, maybe not so much visually, but very much thematically and plotwise. So I dont get it when someone says they like MOS and not BvS, or BvS and not MOS.

I feel the same way about BB-TDK, Spiderman1 and 2, etc.

I love MOS, but BvS: UE is just on another level for me. That movie transcends CBM genre for me. I hope JL breaks the 3-movie curse.

I'm finding as much as I love BvS for what it is the more time passes the more I find problems with it. I feel very similar about the Dark Knight Rises in that I think it's a very good film and when I watch it I love it. But after I always think it's not how I'd have done it or wanted it. If that makes sense.

And then realised...BvS starts with leaves falling Bruce's parents coffin, and ends with dirt rising from Clark's coffin. The first shot is a dolly out, and the last is a dolly in.
