Anyone else doing some Force Friday shopping? Got my orders in at Amazon! That Praetorian Amazon Exclusive Guard looks badass!

Sigh. Chelsea should have never gotten rid of him the way they did.

Can't complain tho. His departure gave the Chelsea fans 2 European Cups (CL'12 & EL'13).

I hate that Chelsea has no stability and there seems to be no long term term plan for the future in place. Abramovich simply gives no f**k. I was quite stunned to hear rumors about Conte leaving during the pre-season. How can the higher-ups at Chelsea let that happen after last season?? Why was there a rumor about him leaving in the first place?? How is this even a thing?? It was totes baffling.

OTOH, this whole deal is what makes Chelsea so competitive. There is a real hunger and desire to win big trophies. This unpredictability kinda excites me. The Blues are always going for broke, no half measures.

IIRC, Ancelotti was axed for not winning the CL. He came up short twice and Chelsea lost in the QFs. Abramovich wasn't satisfied and he dismissed Ancelotti and the drastic/desperate measures brought us two European glories. So can't say it was all that bad in the end. Firing Ancelotti worked out just fine.

He's a good choice. He can do wonders with a young and talented squad which Arsenal undoubtedly has.

Diego Simeone, Massimilano Allegri and Jorge Sampaoli would have been some good choices IMO.

Conte was pissed off about his strength in the transfer market this summer right?

"....The answer involves a plan worthy of The Joker himself. Sources say Warners will make an ambitious attempt to use Scorsese to bring Leonardo DiCaprio into the world of comic-book movies. Certainly, Scorsese’s involvement in The Joker film, which The Hangover filmmaker Todd Phillips would direct, could elevate and diversify the studio's contributions to the genre, creating the potential to make awards-worthy films such as Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy.

There's no offer for DiCaprio, and sources say Scorsese's deal to produce isn't even done yet. The chances of landing DiCaprio could be slim to none. But the attempt in itself sends a signal to talent that Warners wants to hire serious filmmakers to make serious films.

This plan was not met with applause in all quarters: Insiders say Jared Leto, the actor who portrayed the Clown Prince of Crime in last summer's Suicide Squad and is slated to reprise the character not just for a sequel but for another spinoff movie (with DC villainess Harley Quinn), was caught off-guard by the plans. Leto is said to have made his displeasure with the notion of multiple Jokers known to his CAA agents, and rival agency WME has been using the concern to court him...."

Sources say...Insider say...given what Leto said last week about all the rumors and such, no sure as of now whether I'll take a lot of stock in what the Hollywood Reporter refers to as insider knowledge.

Though I do love how Scorsese, who isn't even officially attached to produce yet, seems to be taking the bulk of the limelight away from the actual director in Todd Phillips. Such is the power of Scorsese.

Leto's agents probably should have demanded a "no other Jokers" clause in his contract lol

Someone who only READ what happens in the third act of mother! says it's almost too insane and stomach turning...I cannot imagine anything worse than that horror show sequence in Requiem but it sounds like Aronofsky topped himself

I don't blame Leto if true. If it was a lesser known character, it wouldn't be a big deal. But it's about the greatest comic villain of all time, so I totally understand if he doesn't want to share the role. lol

They have as much chance of landing DiCaprio for Todd Phillips' The Joker movie as I do on hooking up with Hugh Jackman.

Just saw Watch Mojo's video of the top 10 dumbest changes made to Death Note for the Netflix movie....
We have this combination of Punisher and Joker (psychotic killer who manipulates this show's equivalent of Harley Quinn), who adds as James Gordon jr being the son of the police chief who works with a sweet tooth Batman, all that is thrown out the window in favor of some bullcrap most people wouldn't want to watch when they think of the story title.

Reminds me of comments when Margot Robbie and Will Smith were talked about for Suicide Squad.

Right because they are both Oscar winners who don't work that often and when they do it's always with famous, acclaimed director?

Will Smith yes but Margot was not in that ballpark at the time (still isn't). Also Will Smith isn't in the upward trajectory of his career any more. DiCaprio is my favourite actor though so I'd love any involvement he has in anything like this and he picks his projects well so just him agreeing to be in would be a good sign for the film. Anyway won't be holding my breath on this one.

So they only count if they fit that definition? Okay.... :whatever:

I was referring to DiCaprio and you brought up Robbie and Smith for some reason

DiCaprio is another league, look at how he chooses his projects

I brought up a similar situation and you for some reason tried to narrow the definition.

it wasn't that bad tbh. i mean, it was bad but not DBE bad.

There's nothing in comics like this banter, man. Nothing. Glad to see my boys are back.
