Doesn't mean much

It really doesn't, like at all. :p :(

but for what it's worth it should be mentioned that JL made almost 4x more money in China than TLJ.

I think JL has TLJ beat in most big Asian (sans Japan & South Korea) and Latin American countries. SW is a huge deal in North America and Europe. Star Wars is unrivalled in these two continents. The Wizarding world (HP) and Middle Earth (LOTR/Hobbit) are the 2 nearest competitors in popularity when it comes to Europe but I think they are still behind by a good margin. While Star Wars is the undisputed biggest franchise in the history of Hollywood/North America.

I looked up the Box Office earnings in UK, France and Germany (main 3 for EU) for JL, BvS earned almost twice there, JL's under-performance there hurt movie's overseas collections.

BvS earned $ 48 mil. (approx.) more than JL in combined (UK+France+Germany) markets.

John Francis Daley already getting the "dis iz teh serious film u better do it Right!" Tweets.

Out of all the characters, Flash should be the less serious.

Stupidest ****ing decision of the movie. A fake out death followed by a real death? Yeaaaaaaaah that's some ****** writing right there.

What's even odder to me is that his death scene is really well done imo, really bringing you back to the imagery of his beginnings. But it was unnecessary for this movie, at least.

Yes. It was a nicely filmed death scene. Just in the wrong movie.

Flashpoint is not much of a lighthearted story, though. I have no idea how they're going to approach this but I have a bad feeling about it.

If they are following with same story then, I have a bad feeling too.

Oh, I know that, but it feels like they might have abandoned the Flashpoint idea if they're going for a more comedic-driven movie. Hopefully.

Ehh, even I can make predictions like "Lot of stuff will go down in February, mark my words". Because ofcourse it will. Particularly because its the new year, and changes are made.

He is yet to get anything BIG right like say Kroll does on a regular basis. For me, he is on the same level as every other rumor mongerer.

Trash.
He arguably had the most accurate and explosive JL scoop.

I remember he got a lot of crap from DCEU fans because the logistics and timetable didn't "make sense". Fans underestimated WBs incompetence. :funny:

With how much the public outright rejected the Justice League, I don't know how they can navigate in attempting a .5 follow-up. But WB has outdone themselves in maddening decisions.

I could see an approach where they still use Flashpoint as a means of resetting certain events, because they desperately want to salvage this universe. My bet is it blows up in their face.

I'm not going to automatically write off Robles as I do some others. He and BOF were pretty accurate about JL. The other day he said MOS 2 is definitely happening. So we'll see.

Almost as annoying as Sandberg getting hit with all the "He better be named Captain Marvel!" tweets.

But it's just a sad turn of events that I couldn't care less about the Flash movie as of right nao. I disliked how The Flash was portrayed in JL so I'm totally out of hype here. I can understand the rookie angle the were going for but the writers/directors made him a total wuss. I thought most of his lines did work for me (at-least on a 2nd watch it did and I did laugh quite a few times) but it just felt like he was trying way too hard to be awkward and it didn't jive with me. Barry's introvert nature didn't feel all that natural in the movie. His action scenes were extremely unimpressive and his awkward gait while running was just a bad idea IMO.

Underwhelmed I was, don't care nao I am. :D :p :(

While they were right by saying JL would undergo major reshoots, their article said it had already done so, which turned out to be false. So yeah...

I dont trust any of these bloggers...they may get things right every now or then, but most of it seems like obvious guesswork.

Personally I'll wait till he gets things regularly right like Kroll etc.

I have no faith in Flashpoint...the film seems like its bound to fail. A shame. Miller is so talented.

Black Lightning got me thinking of Joe Morton's description of what a Cyborg movie could be like, and it made me kinda bummed it's probably never happening.

"I think it's very exciting," he continues. "I think it's exciting because there aren't that many, if any, black superheros, and in his case in particular, because there is no alias, because there is nothing for him to hide behind, and that he has to be who he is all the time."

"I think it's a great kind of allegory for what it means to be black in this country," he adds.

i keep hearing good things about black lightning.
will try to check it out when i have time.

the hook for me is he is a father. not many superheroes deal with being a parent at the same time. that makes it more real + relatable.

part of the reason i liked reading the new52 animal-man.

Yasss, I loved that Animal Man run.

And Black Lightning was easily the best DC/CW pilot. Low bar, I know, but it’s the first of those pilots I ever thought was actually good.

This makes me wonder how many superheroes are alive and parents in the current mainstream run of things. Characters to come to mind beside the ones you listed:
Reed Richard & Susan Storm
Bruce Wayne
Clark Kent
Scott Lang
Julia Carpenter
Kakrot/Goku
Gohan
Vegeta

Suicide Squad Hell to Pay looks good! It looks like the spriritual sequel to Assault on Arkham, a fun R rated romp.

This is actually wrong. TLJ will finish with a final total around 41.5 million. The movie lost some 94% of it's theater counts in the 2nd weekend and dropped an abysmal 91.3% on the same weekend.

If TLJ didn't have exclusive IMAX screens for a whole week to itself, the final total would have been closer to that falsely reported tho. In any case, Star Wars is dead in China. All hope is gone. Better step outta the Skywalker saga and improvise stuff because otherwise SW as a franchise will never gain a foothold there.

I've got an idea, hire Lord/Miller and improvise the s*** out of the Rian Johnson trilogy

:oldrazz:

Still waiting on Batman Ninja.

I would watch an entire chinese live action batman film. Them crazy bastahs would no doubt give us something new.

I watched ROTJ last night and nao I'm totally conflicted about TLJ. I think I like TLJ a lot less nao that I have seen what Luke did in ROTJ. :( :(

The Luke vs Vader fight at the end of ROTJ is the apex of Star Wars. One of the best cinematic moments ever and perfect climax of the trilogy.
