God dammit!! I can't believe it took me this long to get around this movie (considering Hardy is one of my favorites); but what an amazing performance! An acting masterclass definitely; Hardy brings the same level of intensity, nuance and "multi-layered-ness" (Is that a thing???) to this "regular guy dealing with regular stuff" character as he does to his larger than life characters. I absolutely adored it, and the voice over actors absolutely killed it too, telling you everything you needed to know about them with so very little ( I KNEW I recognized Tom Holland in it!!), Holland, Olivia Colman, Ruth Wilson and Andrew Scott were fantastic in their parts too, and I was surprised of how engaging and lush the direction and cinematography was considering how "simple" the setting was.

An absolute delight of a watch.

I love all of "Who Should Replace Cavill As Superman In the Wake of His Departure From The DCEU" articles I'm seeing all over the web now. It has now become a foregone conclusion that Henry left despite the fact Henry's own agent, WB and Henry himself refuted it that same day.

Sheesh. Well, I hope this stunt was worth it.

Funny, I saw no one refuting it that day. I saw a cryptic Instagram video, a vague WB non-statement ("no plans, no decisions!") and diplomatic statement from his agent that gave us no actual information. If they'd actually wanted to refute it, it would have been easy as saying "that's not true" or "he will still play Superman in upcoming films." But no one did that. Wonder why.

The trades are telling y'all what's up. WB did not renew Henry's contract and have no current plans for Superman in film. This doesn't technically close the door on his involvement in future projects (which means Garcia and WB can BS about this all day long), but it means whoever DOES kickstart a Superman project, whether its in the next year or 5, will have no obligation to involve Henry at all. If someone decides to include Superman in Supergirl or another subsequent film after all, they will be free to recast. That's the writing on the wall from where I'm standing.

Well if the door is still open, then that means Henry isn't definitively done with the role. Now I personally have accepted that he won't be returning, but the fact that neither WB nor Henry's camp has committed to actually saying he's done tells me that this isn't exactly a foregone conclusion. As it stands, just seems like nothing is happening on that front at all.

I'm not sure I'd classify Garcia's statement as being diplomatic though, but that's just me.

Looks like Spider-Man is a fan favorite game, I really look forward to playing it. Boss battles are pretty lame though, it goes for a little more than what I've been saying for years about free flow combat system does not lend itself well for boss battles.

Nice.

I was just listening to a film podcast this morning where someone made sure to point out that even WB's statement said they're still committed to working with Henry Cavill...but nothing about working with him as Superman.

‘SUICIDE SQUAD 2’ Writer Reveals Film Will Tell A Deeper Story

"We’ve also learned a large portion of Suicide Squad 2 will take place in the Middle East. Having it set there was originally to help introduce Dwayne Jonhson’s Black Adam into the film. It was reported some time ago that Johnson was set to make his first live-action appearance as the character in Suicide Squad 2. Due to Johnson’s busy schedule, that plan has fallen apart so DC will now use another notable comic name in his place. It’s unclear who that could be but speculate as you will."

.....replace him with IDK, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman?

Superman's very likely not in Shazam now....replace him with........Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman?

and we probably won't have a freaking Sup vs Black Adam vs Shazam showdown now....replace Sup with...ya.

or sign up Tom Cruise as GL now, wont' mind having him and Gal and the new Bat actor sharing the headlines and heavy lifting....

Just when you think you've seen everything from DC, they give you a volcano Green Lantern.
