Justice League Lounge of Justice - Part 81

Yeah I doubt it'll be an event of that level, but Marvel was smart about releasing it during Women's History Month.

Its gonna be yet another solid Marvel movie. The question is will it strike Black Panther level lightning in a bottle?
I doubt any solo Marvel would tbh. There's certainly a good chance for CM to do better than WW, but I don't see any standalone Marvel or DC film based on a lesser known property to do what BP did. I think there would be a long time before we see anything like that again.

It's probably gonna steal WW2's thunder.

A film with nearly all female actresses and creators behind the camera might be a BP level event.

I wish Castlevania's success would make them do more Netflix shows based on video games. If Hollywood can't make that type of material work on the big screen, it won't hurt to try in animation or TV.
We're still a long ways away, stateside. Leave those adaptations to the folks overseas who make them.
That new Mega Man cartoon is pretty good tho.

So, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim are saying that their script was not used ? Also, many fans feel that Geoff Johns was not given any responsibility and he did nothing, director Martin Campbell also had very little input in the story, it seems to me that everyone involved just want to avoid taking any responsibility of that movie.

Their original script was fairly heavily rewritten. The bones of it are in the final movie, but only just.

I believe thunders are non transferable, you can get one first, or steal it, but once it hits you you keep it.

It's sad because Silent Hill is the best video game adaptation I've seen. Really irks me the movie doesn't seem to get the credit it deserves. It's still surreal to me how well it captured the games' atmosphere. Hollywood can turn it up when they try, but for some reason they don't usually seem to try very hard.

Yeah, and because they don't try hard most of the time, moviegoing is a less entrenched habit than it otherwise would be. Apart from the films I know I'm going to watch I often give other films the opposite of the benefit of the doubt after years of subpar films. It's not that I wouldn't find something to enjoy in most films, but many are a waste of time and money to go to a cinema for.

I think WW2 will do better box office numbers than carol’s movie

But I’ll be happy to be wrong

This is a game changer if they can pull this off. Holy crap.
Loki, Scarlet Witch, Other Marvel Heroes to Get Own TV Series on Disney Streaming Service (EXCLUSIVE)

Disney is enlisting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the company prepares to launch its upcoming streaming service. The entertainment giant is in early development on an ambitious plan for a number of limited series centered on popular characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These series will likely include shows centered on Loki and the Scarlet Witch, along with other beloved superheroes who have yet to appear in their own standalone movies.

Marvel and Disney had no comment.

There’s an important distinction from other Marvel small screen efforts, however. The actors who portrayed these heroes and villains in the Avengers films and their spin-offs, such as Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, are expected to play them in the streaming shows. Moreover, though sources close to the production are staying mum on the cost of the programming, the budgets are expected to be hefty rivaling those of a major studio productions. Each series is expected to include six to eight episodes. Marvel Studios will produce the shows and Kevin Feige, the guru of all things MCU, is expected to take a hands-on role in their development.

The pricey gamble with one of the crown jewels of the Disney film empire is a sign of how much the company has riding on its direct-to-consumer platform. As companies such as Netflix and Amazon continue to grow their user base, Disney is trying to find a way to establish a toehold in the streaming revolution upending Hollywood. The company has kept the details of the service close to the vest, beyond saying that it will likely cost less than Netflix and will launch at some point in late 2019.

I'll be happy if they make the same to the exact dollar, as long at that is a huge amount (and as long as its deserved).

Damn, that is huge. The film and future TV universe finally integrated, and a good place to get things done that would be hard to create a whole film for.
WB/HBO have been a duo for so long, it's a wonder how they haven't thought to take advantage of the comic book IPs in that format. Especially when TV has taken such great strides over the past decade. As a DC fan, I genuinely loathe the incompetence of this studio.

Honestly, I think it's due to HBO's snobbery and protection of their rep as a "prestige" network. Because you know they'd have first dibs on the TV rights to most of these characters if they wanted them. They just haven't wanted them. But they are absolutely desperate right now for a show to get them as much genre-y buzz as GoT, and Westworld is proving NOT to be that show (much as I love it), so maybe if Watchmen's a success it will get them to look harder at the DC goldmine they're sitting on.

That's pretty much what I was about to say as well. They dipped their toe into the superhero pond with Spawn back in the 90s, and while the show was pretty great, from what I hear they scheduled it poorly and barely promoted it.
