When DD
lifted his mask in the final confrontation with Fisk (even with his identity already known to him), I was all like...

200.gif

That was intense.
I BEAT YOU!
And the
Henry Cavill scream.

I got so pumped up when

Matt and Fisk both screamed at each other simultaneously before the fight

All of this!!! :ilv: :ilv:

When
"This city beat you....I BEAT YOU!!!"
:hmr: :hmr:

I had chills and squeed at the same time, Charlie Cox, you legend!!! (D'Onofrio already gets all the praise in the world and he deserves it)

I do feel that whenever it involves the Kingpin the fight choreography suffers a little, but I didn't care, at that point I was so invested in everything going on that they could've had a crew member waving at the camera and I wouldn't have cared... :o

Yeah sorry, I'll never get the "he doesn't look like Superman" argument. He doesn't look like Cavill or Reeve, but he sure as hell looks like the character I see in comics all the time. If he were like 2 inches taller and bulked up, it would be like he walked right off the pages to me. And there's just something more "Kansas farmer" about him than Cavill to me too.

It's not really an argument....it's a matter of, taste, I guess?? Which is sad for me personally, since I really wanna get into him. To me this whole "one or the other" mentality is not only ridiculous, but sad; I've always loved having different takes of the same characters in the comics and I love the Multiverse thing going on, I love both Ezra and Grant (and now bringing JWS too :hmr: ), and I really wanna get into Tyler as Superman, because I think performance wise he nails it (for the version of Superman they're going for, which again, not my favorite, but I can still appreciate), the suit looks good and all....I just look at his face and see a guy dressed as Superman...not Superman; but again, I know that's all in my head.

The only 2 actors that to me looked like Superman stepped out of the comics were Reeve and Cavill (Cavill more so, to be honest, despite the huge personal importance that Reeve had for me growing up); all the rest, I really respect and appreciate what they did, but you just feel what you feel.

For the record, I don't have a "one or the other mentality" - I've been a Cavill supporter since long before he was cast in the role, and I'd be happy to see him continue it. I'm just saying there are some aspects Tyler has that I prefer. It's only natural to compare, imo.

But yes, I get it, we see what we see. That can't be helped. I look at both and see Superman. But with Cavill, it's a more boyish Supes, and with Tyler, it's a more rugged, masculine Supes. Both resemble different versions from the comics to me.

I used to think Hoechlin would be better-suited to playing Bruce Wayne based on pictures, but now that I've seen him in motion, I can't picture it. As my mom said when she saw an episode he was in, "he just has an inherent kindness about him" that screams Clark Kent, imo.

When will we ever get a live-action adaptation of this awesome Superman story? It's been one of my personal favorites for quite some time.
It remains my favorite version of his origin, despite the whole "he knew Lex since childhood" element that felt shoehorned in due to Smallville's popularity at the time. But yeah, outside of that, I think it's a near-perfect template.

I especially enjoyed Clark's early exploits as a freelance reporter. I was hoping to see some of that carry over into the DCEU, but alas, it wasn't to be. And yeah, the Lex stuff in the book was unnecessary. Plus, it made for an annoyingly awkward reunion between him and Clark (as adults) later in life.

He did know Lex since they were young in the comics of the 70s, so using that for Birthright doesn't feel shoehorned to me, especially since it is its own thing.

Making them schoolmates in the main line after Birthright feels poorly shoehorned, it's worse when you read earlier comics in the same continuity originally depicting rich man Luthor an orphan and a peer of Perry White, he also had his time with Alice White after she got married to Lex's childhood friend now enemy, and Lex is the true (biological) father of Gerry White.

I like this art.
I agree.

Seriously, the costume design team for Gotham. Are they straight out of grad school or on a bet, as consistently, the come up with the worst made/designed costumes for a TV show I've ever witnessed, I don't watch the show (bar some episodes from Season 1 when it first aired) but Dr Who in the 70's and 80's had better quality. What's the budget here, some spare change left over ?

Of course it's just how you feel. :D
It's great that many people back Tyler now after that first look fiasco.

It's just inexplicable personal preference, I like Reeve, Cavill and Cain more than Routh, Welling and Hoechlin even though Routh looks more like classic Superman than Cain with his height, prominent buttchin and blue eyes (contacts, I know, but still). But I like Cain more. Just like I love Momoa and Ezra although they aren't look similar to their comic book counterparts.

I do still think Tyler has a look to pull of edgy or antagonist role, but like I said, his grin is great. Many love him so that's a win.

Height personally doesn't matter, I actually like the fact that Henry is shorter than most JL members.
Now body wise, he seems small boned (compare his wrist / hand with Ben) which I don't mind either but IMO doesn't look right to carry way too much weight. I prefer his MOS look than BvS / JL look, his biceps are too buff and almost comical in those movies. But many seemed to love that, so I'm a minority.

You know what would be the icing on the cake with this Elseworlds crossover? Getting Lynda Carter to play Diana again. How awesome would that be? Even better, have her and Shipp's Barry know each other. It wont happen but just a cool idea i thought of. Carter still looks amazing and I think it could work tho (obviously, she wouldnt wear that 70's bathing suit costume tho)

I thought that it was 10 episodes
You're probably right because my memory is usually wonky.

But maybe there'll be difficulties later on if WW appears, e.g. fans would actively asking about 'official CW adaptation of Wonder Woman' etc.
You're right, won't happen :( but I really like your idea.

I didn't mean you in particular when I mentioned the "one or the other attitude", I was just referring to an attitude that, as we know, is sadly abundant in the fandom.

And honestly, I'm rooting for Hoechlin (not as much as I'm rooting for Cavill to be back, but still) since I think he did a great job, but yeah....we see what we see....I think it's probably because there's something about his face, particularly the shape of his eyes/eyebrows/nose that give me more of a "bad boy"-ish look....

I always thought Hoechlin was a dead ringer for Gary Frank's Bruce Wayne from Batman: Earth One. Same hair, same eyebrows, etc.

.....like here, for example.

Those comparative images @flickchick85 posted are interesting tho.

Yeah, I loved the freelance reporter stuff, and when we first heard early reports of the plotline of MoS, it sounded like that's what we'd be getting so I got my hopes up there too.

Yeah, I know there was precedence for it from earlier decades and I have a feeling that's why Waid agreed to do it, but it still felt shoehorned to me because it didn't fit in naturally with the story and as Arms said, it made for quite an awkward handling of their reunion. The whole idea of it and the way it was included in the story just felt undercooked, like it was an afterthought to me.

Nice to see you guys arent melting down over the WW84 news, btw.

Don’t think it’s something to melt down over either, but It’s ok to actively voice displeasure, because I no longer buy into the whole “more time to get the movie right” crap, at least not after the great disaster of 2016.
