Camaraderie and support. The MCU actors are always attending each other's premieres.

Snyder, Affleck and Cavill aren't toxic by themselves. The movies they made weren't received well, sure. But calling them "toxic" by themselves is pretty out there.

Now if Snyder was behind the camera for this or got his hands on the script in any way, then you would be correct, but don’t fool yourself, this is James Wan’s show.

There's a big tradition in SNL to bring friends/co-stars during the monologue but not directors, actors, unless directors are super famous. So there's a chance Jason invites someone, depending on who is gonna be in NYC on 8th and that's not necessarily going to be Aquaman co-star. Carell brought few people from The Office on the recent one.

Gal Gadot? Emilia Clarke? I think these would be the best to invite seeing how one is in a beloved movie and another in huge show everyone watches

If I had to take a guess, it's probably about Affleck's drinking problems or back when the video of him groping Hilarie Burton resurfaced. With Cavill I assume it's about the money issue and with Snyder, well, we know how it all went about with him and WB. I think the studio would just try to distance themselves from the "old guard" as much as possible, y'know. Geoff Johns co-wrote and exec. produced Aquaman and I doubt he would show up at the premiere either.

I do recall Snyder being at the Wonder Woman world premiere

Female led-superhero movie shield. Even Ghostbusters had that shield and we all know how bad that was. Still protected it from bad reviews.

Mind you WW is great. I'm talking about perception and what is being voiced.

Aquaman's only shield is Wan. I've seen hundreds of "thank God Zack Snyder was nowhere near that!" comments yesterday. Again, don't limit your views to this and whatever CBM reddit you follow, it's a fraction and some of that fraction actually wants to boycott Aquaman which tells you how perceptive and rational these folks are

Wonder Woman's biggest shield was it being a really good movie. I have a feeling Aquaman is the same way.

I can't believe I'm actually going to interject here and post this but I think it's a good thing that Cavill & Affleck aren't at the premiere since their presence will bring questions about their future involvement in the DCEU and it'll create some unnecessary drama.

The Aquaman cast doesn't need any of that. It's their moment so it's a good thing that there appears to be nothing distracting or awkward during the press tour.

Again......like Chip said........those comments were probably thanking God that Snyder didn't direct the movie, not that he's physically not there. And I agree with them.
