I love the creepy dark organicoindustrial design of that environemt. :ilv:

Both, depending on the writer. Pre-Crisis it was exposed flesh, post-New 52 his body is a perfect man/nanotechnology hybrid that can regenerate and change shape at will.

That I can get behind. :)

Truthfully I was never a fan of the Mother Box being responsible for his origin or the resulting floating head look, so the exposed arms don’t particularly bother me.

Bonus points: now you’ve also ducked the dodgy implications behind having your franchise’s supposed headlining black hero literally being a castrato.

Would've gone great with OG Steppenwolf and Cyborg hunting down Parademons whilst he practically is one.

Honest question, since I've never read this run: Is the flesh in Victor's arms actual human flesh/parts?? Or is it his armor simulating flesh??

The reason why I ask, is because I always had an issue with Cyborg's designs that leave lots of flesh (hence: vulnerable) parts exposed; like, your fists and feet are super strong?? Like Superman strong?? Awesome, here's a papercut in your arm and a bullet wound on your tight to go with it!! You know what I mean?? From a character (as in, the internal reason of the motherbox interfacing to rebuild his body and offer him protection) point of view, it doesn't make sense to leave him that vulnerable, and I think the face can be justified (but that's what the "battle mode face plate" is.... *sigh* was for), but other body parts don't really make sense to me; like, I'm gonna use my super strong hands and forearms to lift this tank...oh, there go my normal upper arms breaking under the pressure; you know what I mean??

Maybe it's one of those things that annoy me and nobody else.

That could lead to an interesting story, if he starts out 50/50 between human an machine, but he suffers wounds to his human parts and they get replaced with more machinery. Slowly he is becoming more and more mechanical, he's worried that he is losing his humanity, that one day everything will have been replaced, and he will no longer exist.

Ties in thematically with the growing mechanisation and digitisation of society, automation of labour, artificial intelligence, and leans in to the body horror aspect of the character.

Speaking of Star Wars, is there another spinoff coming after Episode IX or are they pumping the breaks on that whole plan post Solo?
All the eggs have been placed in the streaming basket.

From day one, I knew this one Star Wars movie every year strategy was not a wise one and would easily lead to oversatutation. People kept comparing it to Marvel but its aples and oranges.

Yeah I said the same at the time I think having a trilogy where a film came out where a film came out every other year was fine but to have a Star Wars film every year was bad. They at least needed to have a gap in the middle and take one year off. Now they are where they are as a result of it all.

Dark Phoenix is DOA. They need to Roger Corman,Fantatic Four it. For the betterment of the actors and the mythology.

Please save us based Feige. The X-Men don’t deserve this

was the post edited? I see nothing.

@kguillou All the Star Wars eggs went into the streaming basket.

Digging Punisher so far, but it was weird seeing a church full of white people singing "Wade in the Water."
I've never watched this show but now I must get on to this for that moment. What episode is this? :funny:

Haha, it's season 2 episode 3. They really go for it though, which is admirable, but still...

I was hoping the X-Men could leave on a high note.
