Lounge of Justice - Part 90

All this Dune talk reminds me...i watched half of Lynch’s film a few years ago and never finished it. I remmeber i didnt hate it i just....didnt get it. Which i guess is par for the course with Lynch :funny:
Same.

I've never read the book (probably will right before the movie comes out), but I have such a soft spot for that movie. It's a mess, but such a glorious, ambitious, majestic mess. :funny:

I tried to watch that a couples of times. I just couldn't get into it. Find it really dull and tedious. It's aspects of space sci fi I don't find interesting, sort of like being in that same space as Chronicles of Riddick.

I'll given the new one a chance as it may have a different, more modernized approach that could hook me in.

:( Truth be told, I would've rather gotten this show back than Young Justice.

Please bear with me for a second. Now that I look back at this, I really think there was no point for Geoff Johns to bring this character back with so much fanfare if all it was going to lead to was an incompetent studio botching his push like that. And all those years later they hopped on the stupid jokes bandwagon and shoved him down the same hole that it took them decades to pull Aquaman out of. And of course they don't even need to try to "fix" that ****show like they did with Aquaman, since they can just go with other GLs instead who also happen to check the boxes they're looking for. If they would ever use Hal Jordan more prominently again it would be either in a Hank Pym capacity or turn him into Parallax again to prop other GLs. I'm sick to death of this garbage, flick.

I'm a big fan of David Lynch, y'know his version of Dune is actually one his simplest, most straight forward films.
His movie about space empires, giant worms and a sci-fi messiah is far less weird than his movie about a young woman moving to Hollywood.

A lot of what I liked about the GL animated series was that it took a completely different approach from the film.
The movie was set almost entirely on Earth, whereas the show was basically Star Trek with Hal and a crew out exploring the universe.

I definitely feel you there. BUT I'm glad they at least tried the push, because I'm grateful for GL:TAS, and even First Flight. Neither of which we would've gotten if they weren't trying to make Hal happen first. And of course, Johns' epic run did make Hal THE essential GL to a whole new generation of comics fans. So at least we got some good Hal material out of it before it all crashed and burned. And he still has the most iconic stories. Which means, even if they go with different GL's for the foreseeable future in an attempt to change things up, someone will eventually come along with particular affection for Hal and want to give him his due again, just like Johns did with the comics. I like to think it'll be like Star Trek - sure, a lot of people first got on board with TNG and the 90's shows, but that didn't stop Kirk & Co. from making a comeback eventually, and for people to rediscover TOS all over again.

That’s what I wanted from the film, or at least the sequel.

People are calling for boycott of WonderWoman1984 because Geoff Johns is one of the story writers and Executive Producer, Goeff Johns is involved with many upcoming DCEU movies...

I wouldn't worry about that, it's probably about 30 people who have nothing to do now that they bullied WB into doing Snyder Cut

Is that Zimmer's score?

If the pandemic is over by then, sure...

I really don't think people will mentally handle this situation for another 9 months. They will just ignore the situation and resume their lives.

Borat

Hadn't seen this since it was released. The opening sequence at that village is one of the greatest openings in film history. A different era. Can't make that flick today. Sacha Baron Cohen is brilliant.
Good thing a sequel is happening now.

Tbh, I think this pandemic will take one full year (more or less) to disappear completely. Closing down theaters for one year will kill the theater system.

And, watching all these movies on your laptop or mobile phone sounds silly because the movies were not made keeping in mind this particular small screen format.

Edit: Would you see WW84, Dune, The Batman, TSS and Godzilla V Kong on small screen in your home (Video on Demand) ?

I mean if cinemas go bankrupt and then it''s safe to go again there will be people who start them up again

I would if I wasn't given a choice to see them in cinemas lol Dune and The Batman are the only ones I'm watching unless there's a vaccine

I didn't think they'd do a Borat 2 because that character's become so popular there's nowhere they could go in public and not be recognized.

The original is one of the funniest films I've seen. His performance and that character is brilliant.

Hopefully those perpetually outraged social media people won't crucify Sasha over whatever is in this movie lol

I think WB should postpone the release of WW84 to early March 2021, and this may be their last attempt to see if there's some improvement in the Covid19 situation.

Right now, it will meet same fate as Tenet.

Especially that one. I don't want to see those two duke it out on the small screen, it wouldn't be as awesome.
