Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Interesting gif reaction. I'm interested to know more of your thoughts.

It was fun, but insanely shallow to me. The whole lesson from her youth thing is super flimsy in how it applies to the resolution of the film. Cheetah’s character motivation of “people like her having nothing” was also laughable. Maybe pre-COVID and pre-civil rights uprising I’d have seen it differently. But she has a doctorate and her dream job. Like your life ain’t that bad to say you have nothing. There was also a powerful immigrant story waiting to be told with Lord that gets relegated to a montage and it just zaps the last remaining energy outta the character for me. Pascal completely carried Lord to the finish line.

It was also just gahdamn weird to me that she slept with Steve while he was in another mans body then just like casually smiles at the guy later as if nothing happened.

To be fair the flaws for WW84 were public knowledge for two years now. I just find it funny because if anyone decides to read the comics or do a Google search of Wonder Woman and Max Lord they'll see the image of her snapping his neck.

On a side note I got to see them shoot a lot of the DC/NOVA stuff.

Eh, I also give major side eye to the folks who spent the last few years complaining about Supes and Bats being unheroic but are now gushing over WW84.

Her and Steve commandeer a person’s body and proceed to recklessly take advantage of it. And the cost of her wish was that she’d lose her power and not that this random person would lose his life if Steve stayed around. It’s like the movie forgot how heroism and consent work despite making them major themes in the film.

Yea felt a lot like a Marvel movie with all of the obvious plot holes. Still decent enough though and my boys enjoyed it. Ready for Snyder Cut.

Love based Zimmer throwing all the BvS score in WW84

and I am surprised New Steve survived the night with Diana as well after 70 years of thirst, I mean hunger

Checkmarks finally getting what we felt after BvS lmao. Wonder if they will keep the same energy 3 months later, I'm so curious to see.

DCEU (and by extension Wonder Woman) doesn't have a loyal fan-base who will defend the movie on social media, I get that it's not a great movie but it cannot be all bad, so where are fans pointing out there's some good in it ?

I gave the movie 9/10, wrote a lenghty review on my website, added two 9/10 posts on letterboxd - i rewatched it right after watching - and posted several posts on the Hype but I won't get into discussions about this film because it's not worth my time and also Jenkins kinda did set herself up here. There are at least two things that are straight up hated which could easily just not be in the movie

The movie is doing well in South Korea, it's at #1 position there, good thing that they are not influenced by what other people think. :funny:

I didn’t love the movie by any means, but I certainly don’t get the hate for it. It’s as good or better than 75% of the Marvel movies. I feel like if Snyder wasn’t openly discussing his involvement in the film the last couple of weeks that a lot of these late negative reactions wouldn’t be happening. Can’t wait for the Snyder Cut!!!!

I didn't hate WW84 didn't I love it either, I thought it was just ok.
The movie further solidifies my desire for the current DCEU continuity be drop altogether and reboot everything like The Batman is doing.

The hate for this movie is unreal. The takes about that scene where WW saves those kids especially :funny: apparently the film is pro-rape and racist and God knows what else
You gotta love when Twitter creates problems that aren't there to begin with only to b**** about them. :o

I wouldn’t call WW84 pro-rape or racist, but I will certainly say that it doesn’t understand either concept as well as it thinks it does.

I don’t hate the movie, but it is incredibly dumb. Not something I’ll ever rewatch.

I haven't seen WW84, but based on the highly divisive reception, Flashpoint can't come soon enough.
