When the community is as close knit as this one, you eventually learn to get past the optical stuff

pretty much hype for life at this point

Yes that's it! well they're from Xiamen and they kinda think they're better than Fijian who eats up all the resources and still look like a rural province lol, but they still think HKers are snobby and can't accept China are better than them, lol, mirror mirror.

Their Minnan accent is slight different and I always get confused with father in law's "are you tired" mixed up with "are you bored" so I never got to rest when I went there! (tired = tiam in TW but xian in Xiamen, xian sounds like bored/nothing to do in Taiwanese)

yea my mom's side was originally from a small town called putian that's between fuzhou and xiamen.
lol there's always that localism going on - "my city is better than your city! our cuisine is better than your cuisine! our gung fu is better than your gung fu! etc"

Is it me but switching these actors with the roles cast would have been a better scenario ?

It's a curveball. I like it.

Farrell getting back in The Lobster shape for Penguin lol.

This cast is one of the most interesting I've seen in a comic book film in quite a while.

i hope they give andy serkis a mustache.
hes in his mid 50s, that is around the age i always imagined the comic book alfred to be
farrell as penguin is interesting.

I was thinking if it's Colin Firth or Colin Farrel lol, but that's great casting I love it, I enjoyed his performance as the vampire neighbor in one of his films, hope he doesn't need to get into Penguin shape and just stay as a badass eccentric Penguin, kinda like Jason Moma making Aquaman badass

Andy could have played Alfred, Gordon, Joker and Penguin lol, glad he'll be sticking around for the whole franchise

Serkis is an unconventional choice for sure, but I will assume he’ll do well and make it his own.

We will just have to wait another day for bald, pencil mustached Alfred
