Lounge of Justice - Part 90

So, in other words, no creative freedom for Snyder based on his track-record, he should have used comic book accurate suit for Flash, knowing that he will be judged differently / harshly based on his track record.

Meanwhile, even as other Studios are postponing their major releases, WB seem to have madeup their mind to release WW84, no matter the financial consequences. I'm sure people are dying to see this movie in Theaters. :o

He can have all the creative freedom he wants, and we are free to judge whatever he comes up with. If he's made a lot of crap in the past and things come out looking iffy from his upcoming film, we're less likely to think it will turn out well because he's never made things that turned out well in the past. It's really simple - doing good work earns you goodwill. That's not a surprising OR unfair concept.

WB: I'm not moving

This is the worst, I think:

Why does Gotham look like Detroit/NYC/Chicago and not like BTAS? :yuk:

I can't speak for all fans, but in all cases the movie speaks for itself to me. Yes, I may have an opinion on how something looks based on a trailer or an image when I first see it, but I always wait to see the final product before I give a final opinion on anything. So it is less holding another filmmaker to different standard or another character to another standard so much as when I see the final product the director or creative entity in question either made the questionable thing work or not. Zack Snyder was not always able to make his ideas work. It's one of my biggest problems with him as a filmmaker. This goes for all of his movies, including the much more popular with fans Watchmen film. There is much he doesn't that movie I don't like either. My experience watching films made by Matt Reeves give me more faith he's going to make it work because in general I have less problem with his movies.

I’ve had films I love where there are certain visuals which still really grate. And I like the Batfleck look now, even while not liking the film it appeared in. In LotR, it being my all time favourite set of movies meant the overall big picture massively made up for many of the smaller things I didn’t like. I still don’t like those small things on rewatches though. If Phamtom Menace has been my all time favourite Star Wars, that wouldn’t make Jar Jar work, there would just be less overall complaining in the midst of everything else being excellent.

I don't have a problem with any of the examples listed other than Flash's suit (Lex's hair was also the least of the problems). Not because of lack of faithfulness to the comic, but because I found the end result dreadful.

Hopefully it's changed for the solo film.

As a prototype suit, I think Flash's suit looked great, given that he made it himself.

I didn't love the suit in the movie, but it didn't offend me either. I do think however that that costume was vastly inferior to the other members of the Justice League costumes. I actually cared less about his costume than I did the performance. In Justice League I just found Ezra Miller extremely annoying. There is sometimes a mentality that if a character is awkward enough that they will be endearing to the audience, and that might be true in some cases, but this was not a case where I found that to be work.

Justice League as a whole I think was guilty of trying to be too Marvel and it just didn't gel. That's a big reason why I'd actually be curious to see Zack Snyder's version of the movie. I doubt Zack Snyder wanted to make basically the Syfy original movie version of The Avengers. That's one reason why whenever the subject comes up, I will always tell people despite whatever issues I had with the movie, I find Batman v Superman to be a much better movie than Justice League. At the very least that movie was trying to do something, even if it didn't entirely work. Justice League by contrast end up becoming a cheap imitation of something else, which compromised the vision of the movie, and it's just an example of corporate four-quadrant filmmaking. There is no soul behind that movie

Ok, this has been annoying me since I saw this gif earlier but I can't for the life of me remember what the commercial was for. I just remember in it the cashier and bagman are hitting on the customer (above lady). She kind of looks like Stacey Dash.

Angelica Charrupi

Nah, she is the model vixen from Drake's Started From The Bottom music vid.

Random thoughts during our corona virus era:

Michelle Trachtenberg should've been a bigger star. She was Jlaw before Jlaw. Eurotrip is also a comedic masterpiece.

So just wondering what’s gonna happen to the world wide cinemas in the next few months, like the ones not bad enough to shut down cinemas? Replay the same films? Bring back Joker again?

I really like the JL Flash costume. It looks like it has been made with flexibility in mind, giving him full freedom of movement, which is important for the Flash.
It looks like practically was the focus when it was being made, function over form. It looks like something a science geek would make.

And it looks like he actually made it and not Zoom and his team.

people are not taking this seriously enough here!

whole school districts are shutting down for 3 weeks in my state.
i'm still trying to negotiate with my management + HR on my options: work from home, paid leave, etc
since either my wife and i need to take turns looking after our kid at home.

but supposedly cdc is considering quarantining california soon.

one of my friends is a doctor and said everyone should be masking up at this point.
but people are looking at me funny when i go out with my mask.
except when i go to the asian supermarket, people are wearing masks there cuz they know whats up.

i look like bane. lol.

I don't know where you're from but I'm an American and proud of it and while we can approve on some of our action I still am proud to be an American.
It's good to have a good sense of patriotism, stay proud of being part of your country. People with negative qualities always stand like bad swelling, and looking at their actions can make one forget about citizens with more positive qualities at certain moments.
