I hate to say I told you so but I told you so.
Woah!!!!

I suspect they’ll start feeling some serious buyer’s remorse on this experiment before the year is out.
I can see why they would put Tom & Jerry, Mortal Kombat, Dune, Godzilla Vs Kong on same day streaming (and theaterical release) but surely,This might just be WB/AT&T turning lemons into lemonade rather than some long term model changes. I suspect it's the former.

Edit : Forgot that they have moved The Batman to 2022.

Movies theatres in 2021 will be showing like 10 new big budget movies every week, whole year is overcrowded with releases, I suppose competition will be intense.Sad to see movie theaters going the way of the dodo, but it is what it is.
Not when it is over priced and I can watch it from my home more than once at a cheaper price.Movies theatres in 2021 will be showing like 10 new big budget movies every week, whole year is overcrowded with releases, I suppose competition will be intense.
Even if vaccination is able to bring back people into theaters, the movies will eat into each other's revenue.
I doubt theatres will be in same state as they were in 2020, if vaccines are effective, people will come.
The other Studios are still going for regular theatrical release. Not when it is over priced and I can watch it from my home more than once at a cheaper price.
Yeah but if wait 4 weeks later it will be out of VOD and streaming so what is the point. I mean the snacks at the theater are over priced. So are the tickets. So why should I go there when I can order a pizza and watch something on my 80in 4k TV and get the same experience I would get there for a cheaper price. What HBO Max is doing is smart because they are testing the waters and if it pays off best believe others will follow. Because now all you're doing is cutting out the middle man.The other Studios are still going for regular theatrical release.
No I am not in favor of them dying but it is the same way as the VCR, DVD, Tapes, CD's. Sooner or later things will change. And if what @Black Narcissus said is true and WB stopped the free trials for HBO Max you'll see it sooner than later.Keep in mind that not everyone can afford a plasma TV with audio surround systems.
Also you seem highly keen on theaters dying for some reason.
