Space Jam 2 is the real megaton here.

They'll be alright. AT&T already said this is only temporary

Besides, Disney owns almost half the market so as long as they're still on board they'll be fine

They say that but once you do this there is no going back. As for Disney, I have a sneaking suspicion they're gonna announce something similar next week.

I think Disney is waiting to see how WW84 does before doing something like this. However if Disney still charges $30 on top of what you already pay then they might as well forget it.

Its all on Wonder Woman now honestly. Her performance is going to potentially be a massive game changer. If it performs well. Black Widow’s getting put on Disney + asap. And who knows other studios may follow suit with their own streaming apps.

They charged money on Mulan because as huge as streaming its, it's still not financially feasible to spend close to 200 million dollars on movies that go straight to streaming. WB is basically taking a bath on WW1984 and their other 2021 movies up front in the hopes that it gets subscribers to their service in the long run.

Disney+ does not currently have that problem, as they still have a fairly steady stream of high profile content situated to drop throughout 2021: WandaVision and the Falcon & Winter Soldier have already wrapped filming and are in post production, while Loki, Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye are all currently filming, with the Obi-Wan TV show allegedly prepping to shoot soon as well. I could see them maybe doing something like Black Widow on D+, and that's a big maybe, but as long as theaters aren't completely obliterated by COVID then their biggest budgeted movies will likely still be made with a theatrical release in mind.

This is AT&T pushing the button on the nuclear option, so we'll have to see how it plays out. Could be the thing that puts Max on the map, but it could also cause a lot of cashflow problems if it doesn't drive the level of growth needed to recoup those costs.

And they should plan for theatrical release in mind. However if this is successful then Disney may need to re think things.

Eh, I still feel WW84 will make decent enough money at the box office, considering the circumstances. I actually believe it was Disney going into streaming which changed everything. The studios/networks were more than happy and willing to license out their product over to netflix and kick back, till Disney announced their plan. From then on, it was a race to create a new platform or be left in the dust.

If that GoT prequel gets going and say HBO gets Nolan or any other prestige director to make a series, hbomax could go head to head with any other platform imo.

Here’s some good HBO Max-related news for you non-Americans here.

HBO Max Plotting Local International Originals Based On DC Comics IP As WarnerMedia Steps Up Global Rollout Of Streaming Service

“This comes as Head of HBO Max Global Andy Forssell revealed that it would start rolling out the HBO Max service in Europe next year, building on its plans to launch mid-year in Latin America.”

“We will and need to be a global service. It’s an imperative to achieve scale,” Forssell said. “In the second half of 2021, you’ll see us start to upgrade some of the existing direct to consumer HBO services in Europe to HBO Max, double the content, a lot more capabilities, so by the end of the year both of those regions will be very active. The plan is to be in 190 countries, it’s just how fast can we do that roll-out.”

I'm watching Glass again, and I have some things to say about it, but first I gotta admit that I like it, and that I've never sat through any Shyamalan movie outside of these three films.

Doctor Staple knows too much, way too much. How did she know David's name and exact location when cops came to capture the Horde? And exact time cops would be there? And how did cops reach that fast?

Characters could be more creative with blankets to get out of their cells, why wasn't anyone better at timing and improvising?

So David Dunn is too weak against water that it's his kryptonite, even though he fell into a body of water in Unbreakable and survived, but just getting a shower makes him weak? How come nobody complained about bad odors? Doesn't he drink water? What else is his weakness?

When Casey (Anna Taylor-Joy's character) comes to visit she is met with "I can't let you see your kidnapper, you were the victim" and the shot immediately cuts to the same doctor doing exactly the opposite of what she was saying, and Casey touches the hand of the Horde.........

Pretty sure in Split she didn't tell any of the identities of Kevin Wendell Crumb about the uncle that raped her, why does it matter for the Horde to know that? Doesn't she have any family member outside of that guy and her dead father for her to be adopted?

Once Casey gets out, the doctor asks her for her help... 'k

These are a few notes I have while 45 minutes into the movie, not enough criticism to shatter the movie and consider it a messy mass, but it is worth noting that the movie is probably worse than I remember it to be, cause I thought it was an underrated 8/10 movie when it comes to quality.

Been trying to make the most of DC Universe before it goes away so I've been making my way through that cheap old Superboy show from the 80's and just discovered George Lazenby as Jor-El. :wow:

I did a Star Wars movie marathon in order to watch the Rise of Skywalker and it was a good decision (the marathon), I cleared a lot of my misconceptions about the franchise and characters and realized it should be a franchise I easily get into, it has all the right ingredients for that, but I still can't get into it for some strange reason I can't place my finger on.

I watched some of the funnier scenes from Mandalorian, but still I yawned, it's Star Wars, it just makes me yawn and roll my eyes uncontrollably. To make sure I'm not sleepy I've watched the third episode of season 3 of Daredevil and I was hooked all through the 47 minutes preceding credits.

When I was a child I saw an episode of two aliens pretending to be Kal's parents, I did not recognize Jor-El's face back then, and years after that I saw bits of In Her Majesty's Secret Service, and the face did not connect with me at all.

Here's another DC trivia involving him; he voiced Royal Flush Gang's King in Batman Beyond. All his time being trained to speak English for James Bond paid off really well.

Mortal Kombat next month??! We haven’t even seen a picture of a character yet. Is this legit???
Seems... questionable.
