Like what people said, it's only nice to see Mark in the Star Wars universe again, but it's also nice that it pushed Mark to get healthy again. Paycheck and weight loss equals win-win!

Can he & Fisher both keep it up though for the next few years or however many movies they have signed on to do?

Can somebody up to date with the latest rumors please, without spoiling too much if possible, indicate whether the whole Luke turning to the darkside thing is still a possibility or is that looking less likely now?

I know there are rumors that Luke's role in VII is small and will expand more in VIII and IX, but I mean...using his voiceover in the teaser is leading me to believe he won't have a blink and you miss it role. If he does then I'm not sure using his voiceover was the best idea...it's only making everyone that much more excited to finally see Luke again. I am absolutely dying to see Luke interact with the new cast.

I think he was fine. Dude was just older and a little paunchier. Happens to plenty of older people in their 60s. Doesn't necessarily mean they are about to drop dead.

I can't even bring myself to read the spoiler Gianakin, haha, but it sounds like it could potentially be very short. To be honest, I don't necessarily have a problem with this, as it gives something potentially very exciting to look forward to in VIII.

At the same time, I'm not sure why they would the extra mile to make it seem like Hamill has major role in the movie and continue playing into the vibe that this will be a big reunion. Again, I can deal with this, but I know for a fact that this will infuriate a lot of fans. Seems like giving people fair warning that he has a small role to soften the blow would be the smarter move, if this is in fact true.

Technically, they never played up his role. We all assumed it would be big cos it's Luke f***in' Skywalker.

The thing is, the element I looked forward to the most in TFA was a big role for Luke post-RotJ and this is exactly what I'm not getting. However, my personal expectations are irrelevant. If the movie achieves what it's going for in its own right, then it'll be fine.

Yes because it isn't necessarily about them anymore but the next generation. If only Lucas would have done his own future trilogy with all the original characters after he finished the prequel trilogy we probably would have gotten ample amounts of Luke, Leia & Solo in those movies.

If Lucas was still on the new trilogy and had total control, I would think he make the news movies just like how he made the PT. I would be a weird hybrid of the originals and the prequels, and I think it would be jarring and possibly more damaging to the franchise.

I mean, they didn't technically play up the role, but he was there for the cast photo, he was there for celebration, they're using his voiceover in the trailer. They have to know that this is playing with the fan's expectations, they seem very aware and astute about what information they are dolling out and when. Hopefully between now and December they can soften the blow so fans don't walk in hoping for a huge meaty role for Luke and end up disappointed.

With the progression he had, the films would be entirely CGI at this point.

Believe me, I get it. The consoling fact is that our proper Luke dose will come out in less than 2 years after TFA and there'll be another SW movie in between. It helps.
