Huh???

- Anakin is a good friend, like a BROTHER.

- Anakin was a great warrior. It came down to the two of them and Obi-Wan did what he needed to do. But, they were more or less equal warriors. So, yeah Obi-Wan would respect that and did.

- We've seen alot of Anakin flying great in the prequel trilogy.

How are those lies???

I felt this aspect of their relationship to be poorly handled in Episode II, but done much better in Episode III. In the scenes they were together in Episode II, they had no chemistry and didn't seem like brothers. Episode III had a few good friend moments, though.

Think I may have seen more into it since I read the books that took place in between the two films, thus have a better feeling for their brothely relationship and how much Anakin meant to him.

All my knowledge of Star Wars is from the movies. I don't read any of the books.

Meh, Obiwan was the great warrior. Pwnt maul, Cheezus, Vader.

Obiwan was the best pilot in the galaxy. Pwnt Boba's dad, in an asteroid belt. Million to one odds.

And Obiwan was the good friend: to quigon and his bastard apprentice.

He described himself.

I agree with you actually. I loved how he went from the innocent boy on Tattoine to Darth Vader in Sith. I know people don't like the love aspect, but to me that's more Shakespearean- in Shakespeare love is often the main motive that effects us just like in life. It can drive us to be good or it can drive us to be horrible, sometimes the ladder.

So, yeah- Anakin and I could definitely relate to him the most and see myself possibly making the same choices if put in his position. We're not perfect, we act upon emotion and instinct.

honestly i think if it was Young anakin and Luke to duel.
anakin would rape luke.
but i kno it cant happen

Not unless Luke jumps onto a slightly higher level.

You're basically following what we all dreamed about when we heard Obi-wan speak of Anakin, good friend, great warrior, BEST STAR PILOT IN THE GALAXY. All lies now. All lies...:csad:

Yeah, that's why I wanted the trilogy to start later. We could see Anakin actually being a good pilot and warrior, and actually see the bond between Anakin and Obi-Wan instead of hearing about it.

Oh, and Leia's mum wouldn't die at the end from the terrifying disease of "lost will". She would maybe die on another planet 5 years later or something. While Leia was a wee child, and being watched by her godparents or something, Padme is on another planet acting in the same capacity as Leia did at the beginning of A New Hope, when the Empire invades the planet and kills everyone or they blow it up with a prototype Death Star or something similiar. Padme was trying to get people to join the rebellion.

Excellent.

I'd have really done the same and focus the story squarely on Anakin's journey from good to evil instead of focusing everything on politics that didn't matter and then slapdash through the birth of vader like that...

Luke's the "better" one, if that's all that's being asked, but my favorite as a character is Anakin.

Which one was the best? Luke, who was the chosen one and ended up bringing balance to the force and the there's Anakin who was thought to be the chosen one, but turned to the dark side. Which one was your favorite lead in the entire Star Wars series?

I just watched the marathon yesterday, and for me I'd have to go with Anakin. Just to see him grow up and to see how he turned into Darth Vader, it fit perfectly. It was so cool, and a great performance by Hayden Christensen .

Who do you guys think was the best out of the two?

HAHAHHA.

If Anakin had the Darth Vader costume from the start...his acting maybe a little more plausible.

Hamill >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lloyd/Christensen

^ AHAHAHAHAHA :woot:

People are missing the point here IMO... Anakin WAS, IS and DID TURN OUT to be the chosen one in the first place. Despite his turn to evil it was HE who ultimately killed the Emperor thus bringing balance back to the force, Not Luke.

Luke is still my pick just cuz I think his character had more depth, subtlety and was much better written and acted by Mark Hamill than Anakin's who had so much more potential to be a darker better character.

Still though, one thing that should never be taken away from Anakin is that HE DID turn out to be the chosen one in the end as he slayed Palpitine and brought balance back to the force... that's the beauty of the whole saga

Luke is the nobler of the two Jedi

but Anakin is more powerful.

i prefer Luke because he's the good guy, unfortunately in terms of persona i'm more like Anakin.

the whole "chosen one" thing is a bit confusing.

The Chosen One is the one that will bring Balance to the Force. Anakin fulfils this on both counts: the Jedi has grown complacent and overconfident by the time Qui-Gon discovered him, so his turning to the dark side years later shifts the base of power from the Jedi to the Sith. that's Balance #1, over the years as Darth Vader he builds the power of the Empire to unspeakable horrors. when he kills the Emperor he restores the balance again (Balance #2).

the point is that the good or the dark side should not have claim of power alone, like what happened. there's always that Yin-Yang formula, equal amounts of good and bad.

Anakin is the Chosen One, and does bring balance to the Force.

Luke was pretty whiny in ANH, but he made up for it later.

Anakin was just a whiny annoying twit throughout the whole PT.
