This news also makes me wonder whether the film will have a retro setting, i.e. it takes place in the 80s, early 90s, etc. or, whether its a contemporary setting.

The casting has me somewhat interested, but I'm finding it really hard to get excited about this project. I think there are better choices and it might have been better to push this down the road.

You shouldn't judge people by one movie. They also wrote Dracula Untold, Power Rangers, Gods of Egypt and The Last Witch Hunter.
