"KNIGHT OF CUPS > TO THE WONDER
(thank god)" #Berlinale
Filmbrain (Andrew G) @Filmbrain
"KNIGHT OF CUPS: Flirtations w/ narrative, fragments of a life, and a portrait of Los Angeles that outdoes all others. A masterwork."
Stephen Mayne @finalreel:
"Bad Malick. Slightly better version of To the Wonder. Beautiful to look at, music superb, content bland."
Neil Young @JigsawLounge:
"Still a bit shaken after KNIGHT OF CUPS - Malick's best since THIN RED LINE, surely. TO THE WONDER essentially an elaborate sketch for this."
Karsten Meinich @KarstenM:
"Terrence Malick goes completely into a Godardian essayism with KNIGHT OF CUPS - an emotional and terrifying world of phantoms and images."
Hanna Newton @popcorn pyjamas
"KNIGHT OF CUPS was a beautiful let down. Definitely style over substance here."
Eric Eidelstein @ericeidelstein
"Am I crazy or was there a Twin Peaks Major Briggs voiceover in KNIGHT OF CUPS?"
Adam Cook @AdamCook:
"KNIGHT OF CUPS is Malick at his most explorative—TTW was an awkward step toward what he's arrived at here...Great? Maybe. Astonishing? Yes."
Redmond Bacon @RedmondBacon:
"Knight of cups was like really good but also really on-the-nose. Didn't know whether to clap, boo or burst out laughing. #Berlinale"
David Jenkins @daveyjenkins (Little White Lies editor)
Knight of Cups is *beep* glorious.
(the IMDb beeped bit rhymes with 'bucking' btw lol)

KNIGHT OF CUPS feels like another branch off of TREE OF LIFE, just as TO THE WONDER did. And it's spectacular.
