I agree. a worthy opponent rather than some guy who just makes him weak so you can have an unexciting fight. I want to see Superman physically against another high powered foe even if Lex is behind things. I don't need ( and don't really want) uber mass destruction again but I do want a challenge physically to Superman at his peak and I think there are many ways to do this successfully from the long history of the character.

Certain people keep complaining that Superman defeated Zod by punching him, instead of outsmarting him, which is nonsense. However, putting Superman in a situation where he is physically weakened would force him to rely on his wits and intelligence to defeat his enemy. It would be a different kind on climax from the first movie and satisfy some of the critics. It could also show how Superman has grown and evolved as a hero, probably becoming more careful about collateral damage. That is why I want Metallo in the next movie (also, he's just a cool character).

I'm now also on board with having just Lex and Metallo/John Corben in the sequel. Wouldn't mind a little Intergang nods in there too now. I'm sure it be best if Brainiac were to wait til the third installment.

Just bring someone to write , or at least to work on Goyers ideas. Because right now i have no faith Zack is able to mold a uneven scrrenplay in a good movie . He probably just faithfully translated the words to the screen.

So I'm really starting to warm up to the idea of Superman fighting Lex in the battlesuit as a finale. Maybe Lex creates Metallo and Superman fights him 2/3 of the way through. After Metallo's defeated Lex flies in with a modified version of Zod's battlesuit?
I dunno. I would really like this fight to happen before we get into Brainiac, Doomsday, Darkseid, etc.

Personally I want to see Brainiac and Lex as the villains in the sequel. Brainiac alone brings a mental as well as physical threat and throw Lex in there and Superman would need to use his brains as well as his brawn to defeat both.

I loved what happened with Zod in the last movie but I think we need to see something a bit different in the sequel. Show how Superman has evolved by also trying to avoid collateral damage and saving a few more people during the fights. I think the GA will expect something a little different as well so Superman having to use his brains and not only fight the villain but out think him/them as well will show both how Superman has evolved and a different type of threat.

I don't think they'll do Brainiac in the sequel. They just did a huge alien invasion plot and wont want to repeat themselves. I think that the next film will be very Earth-centric. MOS 3 would be the time to bring in Brainiac, to tie it into the first film with the Kryptonian stuff. Sort of how The Dark Knight had Joker and Two Face and didn't mention the first film at all. Then in Rises, the League of Shadows returns under new management and Ra's is mentioned frequently.

Depending on what version of Brainiac they use, he could be very different than what we got in the 1st movie. He is a different villain to Zod anyway, and has different motives as well, so I dont think it would be too similar at all. Plus as I said Superman would need to use his brains to defeat him.

The 3rd movie I would want to see Darkseid or Doomsday introduced, if we are only getting a trilogy, they need to get as many of the best Superman villains into this franchise as possible and thats leaving out the likes of Bizarro, Parasite, Mongrel, Metallo, and newer ones like Ruin or Preus. Having a sequel be more earth-based would be a waste IMO, especially if we are only getting a trilogy.

I think that they are saving Darkseid for a JL movie. He's stronger than Superman and it usually takes the entire JL just to slow him down. Lex and Metallo would be better villains for Clark to use his brains against. Besides, Zod nearly destroyed the world, Darkseid would probably blow up an entire continent.

Darkseid MUST be saved for the Justice League, but I'd like him to be saved for later should we get a Trilogy of JL films.

Hint of darkside is ok to me. Still think it should be 4eserve for JL or MOS3

I've never particularly cared for Mongul; I've always kind of found him to be a poor man's Darkseid. However, I really, REALLY want to see a villain we haven't seen on screen before so I'd be okay with that. Granted, the Lex we'll eventually get will be much more like his comic book counterpart and not the annoying real estate obsessed *****e that we've seen in prior films. But I just want a clear indication that WB/DC aren't afraid to tackle some of Superman's more obscure villains.

I'd like to see this. He's one of my favourites, specially the pre-Crisis version.

Parasite is a great shout. Someone who can match Superman in the superpower department but with a different power set other than super strength and invulnerability. With Superman's heat vision looking this cool, Parasite's energy absorption would be something else in live action.

The reason I don't want Darkseid in JL is that it seems it would be just like The Avengers. I'd rather see some version of the Legion of Doom or go up against the JL. Darkseid, even coming in with Goodness, Kalibak, Vundabar, Steppenwolf, would likely invade Earth with para-demons and hover tanks, and all sorts of alien weaponry if he is going up against a team like the JL. That's too similar to The Avengers.

I'd prefer Darkseid involved in a deep plot (ALE or world take over) using Intergang as a intermediary until the plot is unravelled, and then a final showdown with Superman.

That's why I agree Darksied should be introduced, they have to show the relationship between the both.....I hope they go the STAS route and have Darksied kill Dan Turpin or a character like DT. They have to show the animosity

I don't know. I think she's a pretty obscure character to be chosen for a Superman movie.
