Why would they pay money to see a movie just for a teaser when they could wait a few days to download it? It may happen, but it will be an insignificant %. SR isn't going to get the same numbers as Spider-Man 1 or 2 on top of their own just because of a teaser.

I think you should go to Spidey boards and know that most of them will see it on big screen.

MovieTickets.com said Friday that it was selling three times more tickets to "Superman Returns" five days before its opening than it did for "X-Men: The Last Stand" at the same point in that movie's sales cycle. And Fandango said Friday that 25% of all tickets it was selling that day and the day before were for "Superman Returns."

I'm excited to see both now... ahhhh what a summer... I wish I was ten again so it'd all feel fresh and I'd be less critical. oh well, both should be wonderful anyway.

But its like to know already SR Tickets are selling more tickets then X3 lol. Now lets see if SR can hold out longer

Well, I think SR will get huge opening (day - $30-35m, weekend - $75-85m) and good WOM, what means very good legs and $200m at the end of 2nd week, so SR will be serious competitor for POTC2.

But I doubt they will hurt each other.

I think POTC2 will beat SR domesticly, but SR will get $300m.

Still, I think they both will make more than $700m in worldwide.

SR will make about 290 million domestic and 540 worldwide.

POTC2 will make 340 domestic and 760 worldwide.

POTC wins.

Yup, SR will be the better film but POTC2 should out-gross it unfortunately. I'll be rooting for SR since I didn't think the first POTC was all that great.

For my hate of Superman I think Dead Man's Chest would top Superman Returns.

I don't think so

I am sure they both will be the best movie blockbusters this year

They are different, they have different genres, storylines and ideas.

But I hope they both will be very good movies :)

You're opinion my friend, but then again, with me thinking the first POTC was so-so, that's why I have the opinion that SR will be the more dramatic, epic, and "moving" film, which I'm sure it will be. POTC2 will have more action, fun and giggles - to each their own.

I'm sure I'll enjoy both of them for different reasons.

How many is "most"? Regardless of how many, SR is not going to get a huge amount of money from "most" Spidey fans here going to the movie.

Let's see numbers, not percentages.

Hey, I cant say number, I dont know. But as what I have read in Spidey boards, most of them will go.

It is still an insignificant number to even think that they will bring in big bucks.

Believe me, they will. They will do that to see teaer on big screen, if you dont want believe me, believe them :o

People still sneak into theatres just to see trailers, you know. If they don't want to see Supes, they'll get in to see the spidey trailer somehow. Hell, I just did it with Fast and the Furious this past weekend to see that Miami Vice one on a large screen.

Pirates what???? HUH?? LOL

I am going to see both but to me Superman Returns feels like an Epic! Pirates feels like an exciting movie I want to watch because I like Pirates of the Carribean.

'Cause SR will have great LEGS. It'll have LEGS. LEGS, LEGS, LEGS, LEGS. LEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, it may be but it's such an insignificant number. Not every Spidey-fan will blow $9 to just see a teaser. Besides, the SM3 teaser will end up being attatched to everything and available online.
