Again, it may be but it's such an insignificant number. Not every Spidey-fan will blow $9 to just see a teaser. Besides, the SM3 teaser will end up being attatched to everything and available online.

Agreed, not everybody. But as I said several times, they want to see it on big screen, so most of them (not everybody) will spend their money to see it.

Now you know another lol. Im guilty of doing that lol.

There is no question that Superman returns should make a decent amount of money. I however don't see it out doing Dead Mans Chest. I see it making Batman Begins numbers for the first movie and a ton of money on dvds.

Dead Mans Chest is likely to be this years biggest film and money maker. Simply because its this years most anticipated sequel. My guess is it will make around 288 million domestically. Just under Curse Of The Black Pearl for seldom does a sequel out do an original. Except for Lord Of The Rings and X-men.

Theres always a chance that Singer crack at superman can make alot more money then i'm thinking its just i don't see it being better then Batman Begins. And my guess is there are more Batman fans. I am sure there are superman fans its just Comic movies die off fast after big weekends. Pirates 1 had staying power and i don't see why the sequel won't continue that .

And Shrek.

And Austin Powers. That was one of the rare cases where every sequel out-did the previous movie.

I dunno. I think that you're
spaceyluthor.jpg

But it is your opinion, and I respect it.

Johnny Depp is on a hot streak in his movies. I mean Jack Sparrow will go down as one of the great characters. I however love Spacey as Lex Luthor. Even though it kinda was a joke in Austin Powers 3. Thats what i thought when i saw him in that. But singers has him as a believible Lex . I'd hate to choose for i am seeing both films.

I think supes will take it becasue we havent seen a superman movie in ages. That reason alone will make many people see it. Plus the movie is getting good reviews. I love the pirate movies but supes will be on top when its all said and done.

Good said

But POTC franchise is also fresh. I hope both will make more than $300m domesticly, that would be great for me.

Thanks Johnny Depp. LOL

." "I liked the idea of [Jack] being ambiguous," he tells Mark Binelli in the new summer double issue of Rolling Stone. "Because women were thought to be bad luck on ships. And these pirates would go out for years at a time. So, you know, there is a possibility that one thing might lead to another. You're lonely. You have an extra ration of rum. 'Cabin boy!'"…

Just fyi,

POTC 2 is 155 minutes. So Superman does not have it beat on length.

after seeing superman returns for the third time, and loving it still (it's easily my favorite superhero film, and definately in my top 10 of all time) i think pirates will win the box office, despite not being as good a flick.

superman isn't the kind of film people (and when i say people, i primarily mean teenagers and people taking their kids) are going to flock to in droves after the word of mouth gets out how serious it is. it really is a 'film' as opposed to just another 'movie'.

pirates, i think, has more of a mass appeal, as it is going to be more or less just mindless fun, but ultimately pretty forgettable.

but, i could be wrong. i hope i am, because i want to see a returns sequel as quick as possible.
