BvS Map out YOUR DC Cinematic Universe.

I really, really, really want to not say this and think this way.

Can one say Snyder did Superman better than Campbell did Green Lantern? Really? I'm not sure I can say that.

Really?..

One made 668 million, the other made 218.

One has a mixed critical reception, the other was panned.

One is continuing on, the other is not.

One can totally say that.

Because MoS was decent but Green Lantern was god awful.

I think he did. A lot of people, myself included, really liked Man of Steel. It wasn't perfect, but it was good foundation for WB to build on. Even if you didn't like Man of Steel, Green Lantern is one of the worst movies ever made.

Look at it this way.

MoS is launching a shared universe.

Green Lantern 2011 won't even get a sequel and has almost definitely been retconned out of existence.

I liked Man of Steel, but will always prefer the ones with Christopher Reeve. Same with Burton's Batman films over Nolan's trilogy.

^^^ Not to mention Snyder respected Superman's essence in the movie making him badass, humble, kind, and brave. Also he modernized the hero without taking his true bases taking THE COMICS as the source. One thing is some guys think Superman from Donner (which I also like), as omnipresent, perfect, nothing bad happens that today wouldn't fit is the only one that needs to be adapted, but the true is that some of those traits aren't in the comics post infinite crisis.

the other one? Really Hal Jordan is a BAD Tony Stark IMITATION of a joke making type guy and nothing to do with HAL JORDAN OF COMIC BOOK HISTORY?

Also don't know if this question had another purpose as continuing the claiming thing... I'm not sure... :hmm

The difference between Stark and Jordan is that we can sympathize with Stark because we see him get blown up and captured by terrorists in the first 5 minutes and are much more accepting of his *****e lord antics.

Jordan just acts like a penis for really no reason. When he breaks an expensive plane to prove a point it doesn't make him look heroic, it makes him look like a stubborn jackass who is willing to risk the jobs and livelihood of his fellow employees because he can't take being beaten in a simulation.

Green Lantern should be a case study in screenwriting textbooks on how to make your protagonist completely unlikable within the confines of the first act.

Hmm. I actually though a lot of GL's elements were faithful to the recent comics. The problem was all execution imo. And making Jordan more jokey would have been fine if the comedy was any good and if he was more likeable, like Wise mentioned.

RDJ's Stark is more jokey than he was in the comics as well, but it was well executed. Thus many fans consider it to be an improvement.

Wise you've taken the words from my mouth.

2013 Man of Steel

2016 Batman vs Superman

2017 Justice League (Supes, Bats, Wondy, GL, Flash **EDIT: vs Lex, Braniac, and White Martians**)

2018 The Flash (Assuming that they've been in production since Batman vs Superman was released. It's a Year One story.)

2019 Wonder Woman (Spirit of Truth/Odyssey/Eyes of Gorgon derivative.)

2020 Batman and the Gotham Crusades (Inspirations from Court of Owls but involving Black Mask somehow. Martian Manhunter is introduced.)
2020 Atlantis (Fantastical epic introducing Aquaman and ease in to a newer evil that's about to come under way.)

2021 Superman: Doomsday (You can also tie in the idea that Superman is already dying- reference All-Star Superman chapters)
2021 Wonder Woman: Challenge of Olympus (Essentially the Cheetah episode)

2022 Green Lantern Rebirth (But actually the Sinestro war story arc)
2022 The Flash: Rogue War (At the end, Barry taps into his ability to go into the future and...)

2023 Justice League: The Final Crisis (An accumulated derivative of Final Crisis and Rock of Ages story arcs. Oh and Superman comes back- Supes, Bats, Wondy, GL, Flash, Aquaman, MM)

Green Lantern was fairly similar in terms of characterisation for Hal. However, it didn't show us why he is the way he is besides an awful flashback to a far more underwhelming death for his father. In Secret Origin-

Hal's mother and father have a rocky marriage due to his job.
Hal sees his father choose to die, saving people at the air show.
He still sees his father as a hero, and continues to hang out at Ferris Air, his mother becomes overbearing, preventing him having a life and he acts out.
One brother kicks the crap out of him, for stressing out their mom, the other looks up to him in the same way Hal did to Martin.
Hal runs away to join the military.
His mother is dying, but will not speak to Hal if he's flying planes.
Hal gets dishonourably discharged and rushes to his mother, he never gets to reconcile and his brother hates him.

Everything that makes Hal a character was scrapped in favour of making him a caricature.

2013-Man of Steel.
2015-Batman vs. Superman.
2016-Wonder Woman & Flash.
2017-Justice League.
2018-Aquaman and Green Lantern reboot.
2019-Justice League Dark and Batman reboot.

Sprinkle in some lower-budget films featuring lesser-known characters along the way.

I'm hoping for Lex, Metallo, and Deathstroke as the villains of Batman vs Superman. They should establish Green Lantern, Robin, Cyborg and The Flash in this movie, but maybe don't give them big roles just yet.

Justice League
: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Robin team up to take down Darkseid. Cyborg and Robin decide to create their own team and the rest form the Justice League.

Batman
. Batman and Robin team up to take down Joker, who has taken over Arkam. The film should show the parallels between Batman and Robin and also the parallels of Batman and Joker. This film should show flashbacks of Batman's first meetings with both Joker and Dick Grayson, and the origins of both Joker and Grayson. Other villains would be Harley, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, and Clayface. After reading Morrison's Arkham Asylum, and playing the Arkham Asylum game, i think this many villains can work when it's done in the context of an Arkham takeover.

Solo Superman movie The Last Son Brainiac and Lex are the villains

Wonder Woman with Cheetah, Felix Faust and Ares as the villains.

The Green Lantern is a reboot with Hal and John as the main characters. Pre Red Lantern Atrocitus should be part of the story. Hal and John discover Sinestro's true motives and have to take him and a small number of Sinestro corps recruits down. this film should set up the prophecy of the war of light.

Aquaman or The King of Atlantis would feature Orm and Black Manta as the villains. Khaldur would also be introduced.

The Flash: a flashpoint type story where Flash has to fix a broken timeline and fight Zoom. This is why i place Flash after Justice League. The Flash would be a huge event. Plus, we'll have plenty of live action Flash stories in the mean time...

The Titans: Robin, Cyborg, Superboy, Raven, Starfire and Miss Martian team up to take down Deathstroke.

Justice League: Tower of Babel:
the Legion of Doom (Lex Luthor, Metallo, Joker, Deathstroke, Cheetah, Black Manta, and Gorilla Grodd) get access to Batman's files and turn it against the team. It'd be based on the comic and the movie Justice League Doom

Man of Tomorrow: Doomsday kills Superman, the world has to learn to cope without him, then Superman comes back. It'd be a huge event story and much of the Justice League would show up.

Some people do not want to hear this, so I'm quoting it.

Wave 1

Batman. Batman investigates the murder of Jack Ryder, a reporter for Gotham News. Ryder had been investigating some of the unsavory rumors surrounding mayor candidate Rupert Thorne. He discovers Thorne was using the assassin Deadshot to silence opponents, and hiring experimental psychologist Hugo Strange to brainwash members of the Swat Team and officials to fulfill his desires. Deadshot is taken down in a white-knuckle inducing finale, Thorne is arrested, and Strange disappears before he can be arrested.

Green Lantern. This would be a reboot and would focus on John Stewart.

Wonder Woman.

Del Toro's JLD Dark Film. This would launch DC's Dark Universe, which would level the playing field between the studio and Marvel. It would also close out the first wave of DC films.

Wave 2

-Aqua-man
-Sandman film (would create backdoor casting for Scarecrow for upcoming Batman film.)
-Flash.
-MoS 2
-Trinity

Wave 3

-Green Lantern 2
-Wonder Woman 2
-Batman 2 (Synopsis to be added.)
-Sandman 2
-Justice League

Lots of good ideas here. Reading them has given my some thoughts on how I'd approach the DCCU.

Flash

Barry Allen, Year One-type story.

Justice League

Green Lantern (John Stewart. Hal exists but he's dealing with something elsewhere) and the Manhunter recruit Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and the Flash to fend off an invasion by Darkseid. Earth gets the attention of the galaxy and aliens start coming.

Amazon

Flashbacks of Themyscira and WW embarking to Man's World. In the present day, she becomes the League's unofficial liaison to the UN and also deals with the machinations of Ares back home.

Atlantean

Story of Shakespearean proportions detailing Aquaman's arrival in Atlantis and rise to power up to his life as king and battles with Black Manta. Have Vandal Savage hire Manta at the end as part of some big superhero-exterminating plot.

Green Lantern: Fear

Hal Jordan and John Stewart have to rally together what's left of the GLs after a devastating attack on Oa by the Sinestro Corps. Hint towards the other Lantern Corps here too.

Titans

The Justice League assign Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire and Miss Martian to investigate the Brain's activities. He hires Deathstroke to take care of them. In the end Cyborg joins the League.

Justice League: Legion

Ra's al Ghul steals Batman's files and uses them in a conspiracy to discredit and eliminate the JL with Savage, Lex, Brain and Manta. They recruit Metallo, Parasite, Cheetah, Bane and Deathstroke as agents. WW recruits Aquaman. Arrow and Canary also join.

That's basically every brain fart I've had for now. Might post some more later.

I like your idea of Legion. It seems like you've seen Young Justice and Justice League: Doom. I definitely want to see a Legion of Doom movie... it definitely works better as a sequel i think. Darkseid for JL, Legion of Doom for JL2.

There's a number of villains that would work well for a cinematic LOD. Ra's, Lex, Vandal Savage, Cheetah, Deathstroke, Metallo, Black Manta, Bane, Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold, Mirror Master, and Scarecrow would be who I'd choose from. Almost any combination would work imo.

You got me, haha. I always liked Young Justice's interpretation of the Legion of Doom/Secret Society as a New World Order-type conspiracy.

I figured, since we're definitely not getting solo movies for every hero before they team up, the next best thing is getting solo movies for every villain before they team up.

PHASE 1 - SUPERMAN TRILOGY

2013: Man of Steel

2016: Last Son of Krypton

Superman fights Lex Luthor and Metallo; Batman and Wonder Woman are important supporting characters. Superman deals with the repercussions of Zod's death.

2017: The Justice League

Superman-centric JLA story that focuses on the team uniting to fight off an invasion by Brainiac. This concludes the story arc begun in Man of Steel by featuring another Kryptonian villain, establishing Superman as the world's eminent superhero, and making him the leader of the Justice League.

PHASE 2 - ORIGINS

2018: Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman origin story that precedes Man of Steel.

2018: The Flash

Flash origin story. Green Lantern cameo at the end.

2019: Batman: The Man Who Laughs

Batman faces off against the Joker; the origin of Dick Grayson's Robin is featured.

2019: Superman

Superman has now reached the classic status quo where he is loved by the people. He will fight against Lex Luthor once again and encounter Bizarro. Hints to Darkseid at the end.

2020: Emerald Knight

Hal Jordan reboot that takes place after Man of Steel but before JLA. The Flash makes a cameo at the end. Hints at Darkseid.

2020: King of Atlantis

Aquaman battles Black Manta. His son dies at the end of the film.

2021: Justice League: Darkseid

Martian Manhunter rallies the Justice League again to take on Darkseid.

I really hope they stop using names like Man of Steel and don't use names like Amazon and Atlantean in the future.

I wish they'd just call them what they are. Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

The original Superman movie was called "Superman the movie" right? I say they use Superman as the title of the next Superman solo film, a film where Lex and Brainiac face off against Supes. Maybe introduce Kara?

oooh, I love that idea. Except for the Kara part. Don't need her. But the rest is golden.

Yeah they'd have to explain why Kara isn't in the JL if they introduce her, and I'd rather her not be on the team .
