Super Mario Mario Kart Wii Online

Eh, so far I'm having a blast with the game...maybe not as much as some of the games, but still fun.

The over abundance of the items is kind of annoying and the AI is cheaper than anything I have dealt with before. One thing I love is the online, which is super fun and runs smooth as butter. I'm loving that.

The graphics in this are worse than in Double Dash.

Another thing is the weapons are overpowered and appear too much. I've had 3-4 blue shells hit me per course. In Double Dash, I only had 3-4 hit me per cup.

.... there the same damn graphics... with actual better lighting... whats so hard to swallow about that? What do you want ? mario to have skin like texture and the coopas to now have scales? there cartoons

DD had better graphics. Even if they're the same as you think, it's a joke. Brawl has amazing graphics. They could have made them a lot better in MKW. Maybe not as great as Brawl, but they could have done much better.

DD is the same as mario kart wii... i dont see where you see better graphics at all. Brawl has amazing graphics because its a dif game. Melee had better graphics then DD... SSB has more detail... they don't include that detail in other mario games, never had, prob never will. Mario Galaxy didnt even have that detail.

Still, the fact that MKW, a game on the Wii, has the same graphics as DD (which came out 5 years ago on the last console) is pathetic on the part of the developers. You can't convince me they couldn't have produced better graphics MKW.

i wont, im just saying it wasn't there attempt to. the lighting is far better and really the only improvement i've seen. the thing is... theres no reason for a graphic improvement. Nintendo doesn't rely on such trivial stuff... mario doesnt need to look realistic

Personally I do find it very disappointing on the developers part with the graphics department in Mario Kart Wii. After Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl there really should be no excuse for having graphics that are slightly better than Mario Kart: Double Dash.

It doesn't have to look realistic but it can look better. There can be more detail and a more smooth look.

Agreed. Mario Kart Wii is a fantastic game but still the graphics are rather pathetic. Especially considering that this game was developed by EAD which is Nintendo's premiere studio and Nintendo should be the best in knowing their hardware in producing the best graphics for the Wii (as seen in Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl).

i still don't see what you guys feel looks so bad... sure the retro courses don't look great, but i dont find anything that separates it from mario galaxy in graphic quality at all

Just look at the character when you select them. They look really rough and lack detail. Look at Bowser's nose for example.

mario galaxy didnt have bad graphics at all.. your just being a graphic ****e, wanting mario with levi textured jeans and crap.. his universe doesn't need that. My only problem with mario galaxy was the weird illuminated modeling.

He's not being a graphics ****e on account that he isn't saying that the game sucks due to bad graphics. Graphic ****es are people like WHF who completely dismiss the Wii because of its graphics capabilities. It's still a great game, but the graphics are very underwhelming, especially since this was made by Nintendo who have proven to do much better.

Mario Galaxy was a beautiful game. The graphics were smooth, colorful, and vibrant. This isn't about SMG. It's about MKW. As hippie_hunter said, I'm no graphics ****e. However, I do expect a better product than what we got in MKW. It's a very, very small (and I still say there is none) upgrade over DD. That is sad and the developers should be embarrassed. It's not ruining my experience (the controls and lack of customization have done that), but it's something that could have been done better and should have been done better.

but ya... i think theres a good chance.. the tournament levels as is that are online change the track.. (added a jump and chain chomps on the track)

no they don't... i've looked at them, handling, acceleration and speed are what i care about most... no 6-8 vehicles in a group are the same. I thought a few looked similar.. but some have more speed.. others more handling even when most the rest looks the same
