The Flash Mark Hamill is the Trickster (again)

Mark Hamill reprising his role as the Trickster is pretty awesome.

Glad to see that they're getting actors from the previous Flash TV series into the new one and Mark Hamill as the Trickster ices the cake. I wonder how long will it be until they have Kyle Gallner reprise his role as Bart Allen.

I'm kind of curious: would they have him play the Trickster the same way, or would they add a sinister element to it?

I'm guessing he'll be played a bit more like "Return of the Joker".Somewhat more reserved. But I'm hoping he'll retain his lunacy.Such as changing personalities (I.E. a pianist, magician, etc) and using crazy props.

I'm sure he won't be wearing a cape and tights again, but I'd love to see him out and about wearing something flamboyant.:woot:

Remember Mark Hamill as the Trickster on the 1990 The Flash TV show? Well good because he's reprising the role on the current show and we're super-excited:

Also of interest is the description of the role: "Mark Hamill returns in a brand new interpretation of James Jesse (aka The Trickster), a role he originated on the 90's Flash series. In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original's deadly footsteps. The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original 'Flash' on the CBS version."

Sounds like we’ll be seeing another Trickster on the show. Axel Walker, perhaps? All we can do is wait and speculate until Hamill makes his debut in Episode 17 of The Flash, sometime in 2015.

I CALLED IT!!!! I'm so happy to be right, I hope they use Shirley Walker's Trickster theme. Best Casting since John Wesley Shipp

Slightly off topic but still Mark Hamill related. In honor of the debut of "The Flash" series premiere tonight. After seeing John Wesley Shipp (The Original Barry Allen/The Flash from the 1990's tv series) guest star in the pilot. It made me wonder if any other cast or guest stars would show up in this new series. and the first person I thought of was Mark Hamill, who before he was casted in the iconic voice acting role of The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, he played the live action Flash Rogue gallery villain "The Trickster" and then reprised his role in an episode of Justice League Unlimited.

I've always felt he was ashamed of the 90s show and his performance in it b/c I've never seen an interview of him reflecting on his experience being on it. Plus at conventions he never seem to mention anything related to the Flash show. Which is why I never believed he would make a guest appearance (let alone reprise his role as the Trickster) for this modern take. So this is great news b/c I've always liked his portrayal of the Trickster in the 90s show. Excited for what he'll bring to this version.

Eh, I figure that's probably more because the 90's show was very shortlived and for the most part not many people remembered it or were aware it existed at all, Hamill was just a part of much bigger and more memorable things that people were much more interested in asking him about.

I was joking about just this with a friend like a week ago. "Hamill should guest star and be in prison with JWS and he should be like, the father of the Trickster or something."
Close enough to what we'll see.
Hamill's return for the role is awesome.

Then you must be forgetting the Flash and substance episode where Trickster was voice by Mark, as well as designed to look like his Trickster. Even in personality it was arguably closer to his 1990 appearance than the comics.

 at young Trickster. :awesome: at old Trickster.

I want Hamill to tell the new guy "Gotta put some product in your hair, boy! Kids these days. No style!" :woot:

Looks like we'll see Hamill in his Trickster uniform after all.

I hope this is like an annual thing. So cool that he still has time for the character after the Star Wars sequel trilogy starting ramping up.

For those that don't know, he also voiced the Trickster on Justice League Unlimited.

The same character on three different shows in three different decades. That's pretty cool.

Mark Hamill returns in the winter finale teaming up with the rogues

The CW has released an official description for the December 8 episode of The Flash.

“Running To Stand Still”
MARK HAMILL, WENTWORTH MILLER AND LIAM MCINTYRE RETURN; KEIYNAN LONSDALE JOINS THE CAST AS WALLY WEST — When Mark Mardon AKA The Weather Wizard (guest star Liam McIntyre) returns to break Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and James Jesse AKA The Trickster (guest star Mark Hamill) out of Iron Heights, Barry (Grant Gustin) must stop these rogues from taking over Central City during Christmas. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) meet Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale). Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Andrew Kreisberg (#209). Original airdate 12/8/2015.

Hamill owned this episode. His voice is total Joker, but so good.

Mark Hamil as the Trickster is fantastic

I love the way he is doing his Joker voice but the tone of it he went for when he was playing a scene more sinister rather than for laughs

So now we have:
Captain Cold
Heat Wave
Weather Wizard
Trickster
Captain Boomerang
Pied Piper

That just leaves Mirror Master, Top, Golden Glider, and Abra Kadabra.

I'm so psyched about this I think I'll bust out my 90s Flash DVD box set and watch the Trickster episodes.

Good news, Golden Glider has already appeared in a few episodes so far

And Mirror Master will be appearing this season! :awesome:

Abra Kadabra kind of doesn't really belong amongst the Rogues. His premise should have him as a solo villain, whose rather out of their league.

We need to have an episode based on the story where he turns The Flash into a puppet
