Mark Millar's Nemesis Project

"Most talked about new series of 2010"?. The first issue hasnt even come out yet. Whoever writes these solicits has a serious hard on for millar.

The Pre-orders for this series is crazy from what Millar has said atleast. I mean Millar comics may not be the hottest discussion in internet forums, but people do buy his comics for sure!

Theres already various movie talks for this flick. Hell Millar said the mysterious director he's been talking to can get Daniel Day-Lewis as the good Cop and Dicaprio as Nemesis himself. :D

MILLAR & MCNIVEN’S NEMESIS #2
Written by MARK MILLAR
Pencils & Cover by STEVE MCNIVEN
The most talked about new series of 2010 rages on! Nemesis’s tour of terror hits Washington D.C. and hits it hard. That doesn’t bode well for the citizens of the nation’s capital or the man in the house on Pennsylvania Ave. Luckily, the Chief of Police has an idea on how to stop the super-villain-- but can you stop a one man hurricane of violence and mayhem? All this, thanks to the creative team that brought you CIVIL WAR- Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

Millar says a lot of stuff. This is the guy who bet money that Jim Caveziel was gonna play Superman in Superman Returns. He is probably just making Daniel Day Lewis up.

Why would he need to lie on his own site? Why can't you just accept that his creator owned stuff is very wanted because Wanted made 350 million?

Millar is a pretty big ********ter. He said he was in talks with Sam Raimi for this, and Raimi denied it and said he never heard of the project. It's all just hype and PR for the book. The main reason you can smell the BS for this is Lewis isn't the kind of actor you can 'get'. Lewis is very well known for being incredibly picky and methodical in the roles he chooses. There's no director who can get on a project.

He never said Raimi had talks for this. He said it wasn't a "crazy thought afterall" but nowhere did he say he was in talks with him. Where did you get that from? Again it wasn't Lewis who replied Millar, it was a director who is close friends and again why would he need to lie?

That's were I originally got it, but it seems that post they reference has been taken down. Like I said, there is no director who can get Lewis, there's just not, whether there is a director who is friends with him or not. Lewis simply doesn't work that way as an actor. And I just told you why, it's all hype, he's getting people talking. People do that sometimes purely to get attention onto their property.

For ****'s sake nowhere in his forum has he said about Guy Ritchie or Sam Raimi. That Dakrhorizons site is full of ****. See this? If this is what Bleeding Cool is actually quoting, then i can just lol. Again the Dicaprio and Lewis came from the director's mouth and Millar quoted it. Sheesh is it so bad to talk about possible movie casting? Apparenly it is here.

Are you really just going to believe Millar is in talks with someone who can somehow manage to get an actor who's infamous as being one of the pickiest actors of our generation just because he says he is? And, of course, it's a mystery director. I mean it's a possibility, sure, but honestly speaking, people BS this stuff a lot for the sake of hype. One of the rules of hype is never 100% believe something until certain parties present more proof than claims on their website

And DH is certainly not full of ****. It may not be a big site, but it's certainly a reliable one. And in that link you posted Millar does say he's 'going to talk' to Guy Ritchie about it, so yeah, seems you proved half that article yourself

I'm always skeptic, but i don't see any reason to make big fuzz on his forums at all. It's not like it has millions of viewers all the time. It's a rather small but cozy community there. Ofcourse you got those big sites just quoting and saying whatever they want. ;(

Anyhow the bid is above 1 thousand now. Hopefully they can get alot of money for the children.

Exactly, the big sites get hold of that kind of stuff and then people see it and get more interested and so on. You think creators, especially one's who are as self-aware as Millar, don't realize that when they say certain things :cwink:

I bet the truth is he just wants to see you and me argue over the internets. >: ( *shakes his fists*

Why would he lie and say that Jim Caveziel was without a doubt going to play Superman? I'm not saying his work isn't wanted in Hollywood, but come on, Daniel-Day Lewis? He should have at least said someone more believable. Like Christian Bale, that guy will do anything.

More than anything, he says these things to build hype around his project. And I'll admit, he's very good at doing that. But that doesnt mean I should take everything he says at face-value.

Man it must being a ***** keeping that white suit clean. :o

Yeah, and he doesn't even have the cleaning resources that Arab princes so rely on:csad:

Didn't you say he was "just betting money?" Did he say he had inside scoop? Did he say he was 100% sure? Honestly now.

Also no, not even i'm taking this 100% seriously but theres no harm in talking about it. Except it seems you people just go and bash Millar. :p

Because he's a hot item right now. Wanted was a way bigger success than the studios thought so people are really interested in getting more of his work to suck at. When/If an adaption or two of his bombs at the box office, those calls won't be coming in much sooner.

Won't happen. Millar is comics' own Michael Bay, feeding an audience and an industry that has a bottomless appetite for ****.

Actually, he did say he had an inside scoop and that he was 100% sure. He only put money on it after someone actually Hollywood (sorry, I forget who now) called him out on it.

I can't find the part where he put money on it, I can look later though.

And I like Millar, he's done some great stuff, like his Superman: Red Son and MK Spider-Man. Ultimates is one of my favorite book ever. Im looking forward to this next project too. I just try to avoid listening to what Millar says to hype his stuff, it's usually just fluff.

I'll maybe try out the first issue.

At the store:ninja:.

I enjoyed Kick-Ass, but Civil War and Old Man Logan left such a bad taste in my mouth that I might as well just torrent it.

Well, you said this:

Theres already various movie talks for this flick. Hell Millar said the mysterious director he's been talking to can get Daniel Day-Lewis as the good Cop and Dicaprio as Nemesis himself. :D

You seemed to refute it at every turn whenever we said something about it probably being hot air and hype, said 'why would he lie?' about it, bashed a perfectly reliable website (and then posted something that confirmed half of it as a rebuttal :/). Not really bashing Millar per say, as I said, it's something that people do sometimes to get attention on their work, it's part of the business.

Won't happen. Millar is comics' own Michael Bay, feeding an audience and an industry that has a bottomless appetite for ****.

Yeah, that's why I said /if

Meh i wish the post was there for me to read myself. :( Oh well. Not saying i'm not trusting you but i'm worried SHH site news poster putted his own spin to it.

It's just that i posted the stuff for some friendly talk and didn't think we'd get people here screaming "liar liar" and whatnot... Ah heck lets just move on with the discussion.

The Charity bid is already over 3 thousand dollars!
