Marvel Legends, Selects, Universe- Thread - Part 1

Ebay. The new wave hit Ebay last week. All the Archangel's appear to be gone, but you can get every other one from the Hit Monkey wave. I just went ahead and got the set of all six. I think you can pre-order the Archangel. FYI, the three new Marvel Universe team sets just became available today. I couldn't resist jumping on them. But I'll probably regret paying what I did ($100) when they have 100's of them everywhere in a few months.. But I guess I just am not that patient.

I know the feeling. I was just on ebay and came oh so close to pulling the trigger on that six set, but I have a few figures I need to check off my wish list first. Namely the wave 3 Punisher and the Marvel Select Flash Thompson Venom.

They have tons of those Fearsome Foes sets at the Disney store near where I live. I'm being patient and waiting for them to put them on clearance like they do with all their other selects. It's just a matter of time before you can get the set for $50.

Pics are popping up online for the IM3 6' inch line. In the pics, 3 figures were shown, Iron Patriot (wave 2 IM ML repaint) Bleeding Edge Armor, Red/Gold Armor mark 3..( comics) And it shows some of Iron Mongers BAF pieces.

Okay guys, I just sold my first print run of Saga on ebay for $200.00... Obviously, I'm going to spend it all on Marvel Legends... Soooooo, here's what I'm thinking so far.. Tell me which one you guys would pick:
SDCC X-Force 3-pack
Marvel Legends Ares series Crossbones
Spider-Man Classics Super-Poseable Spider-Man (McSpidey)
3 or 4 premium single carded Legends (Kang, Silver Surfer, Captain Britain, Havok)

I would either go SDCC X-Force and Crossbones or SDCC X-Force and Kang. Those are more pricier I believe and would take up your spare $200.

Or you could go quantity and get the SDCC X-Force, Havok, Silver Surfer, and Captian Britain, for I believe about $200 on ebay.

I want that X-Force set but I'm waiting until I can free up some money to do so, which is hard right now because I'm getting married in September and putting my extra cash into that.

So far I've decided to go with single figures in bulk. I got a bunch of toybiz Marvel Legends MOC for really good prices. I got Galactus series Nightcrawler, series 3 Thor, Series 8 Modern Iron Man, Apocalypse series Iron Fist, and series 5 Silver Surfer. Those all came to about $125. So I've got another $100. to spend. These are the Legends on my current wishlist:
Captain Britain
Deathlock
Blade
Havok
Kang
She-Hulk
Bishop
Taskmaster
Mystique

I figure I can get three or four. Which one's would you guys go with?

I wouldn't get the sdcc pack. Just find a loose psylocke and snag the archangel and wolvie that are coming

Good finds though, I myself am looking for series 8 Iron Man and Cap.

On a separate note, I think Walmart is no longer selling the Legends any more. Stopped by the Walmart next to my work and they didn't even have a peg for them. The Walmart close to my house hasn't had any really sense the day after Christmas, and even then t was just the Walmart movie exclusive figures. I really hope this is not the case,I'd rather have more options and places to look for them at. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Local walmarts haven't gotten a shipment of 1 or 2 for many months. But got 1 box of series 3 in during November.

Currently all my walmarts are prepping for a toy aisle restock so we may get more mls then

Not a single Walmart in CT that I've been to have Legends anymore. The one down the street clearanced all the series 1 & 2's that they had back in October... I got a whole bunch at $7.50 each... I don't get the feeling they are coming back. Honestly, the action figure isle at the Walmart near me has been pretty much empty since before X-Mas. No Legends, no MU's, No Avenger's, no Transformers, no G.I. Joes, no Turtles. All they have is Star Wars, the crappy Spider-Man stuff no one wants, DCUC's that are about a year old, and about a hundred GotG team sets. I actually went and complained to the manager because I think it's pretty sad that they let it get so bad and aren't restocking anything. I mean c'mon, have some pride. He said he's not sure why they haven't restocked anything. Sounded pretty clueless and didn't really care. Sucks, cuz that's the only big store in my town that sells toys.

On the bright side, my comic shop had a 50% off all toys sale, so I got a ML Elektra, Bullseye variant, Super-Skrull/Kree Warrior 2-pack, and series 4 Punisher, all MOC for $40. Not a bad score if I do say so myself.

They'll be back. There have been plenty of dry periods in the past only to be followed by replenished isles. I've still seen plenty of Arnim Zola and Terrax series figures recently.

I'm sure every Walmart is different though because of management.

EDIT: Althought NEW figs are nowhere to be seen. I usually go to my comic shop first.

they're all going through dry spells aside from the target wave 1 re-stocks (which still boggles my mind, why keep restocking wave 1 and not wave 2?)
