Marvel One-Shots

for characters I'd love to see in a one-shot:

Jim Hammond
Warriors Three
Falcon
60ies Pym
The Leader

Great list. I like that your top 4 suggestions are all Asgard-related! :yay:

I'd probably change a few things up for me, though. I'd put Hawkeye higher up, and maybe combine his one-shot with Black Widow (though not necessarily). I'd take Maria Hill and Quartermain off the list and give them episodes on AOS. I'd also move the Warriors Three and Sif ahead of Heimdall and Loki.

Thor is by far my favorite comic as a kid. I like the idea of combining hawkeye and widows one shot. Also agree with Hill and Quartermain being on Agents of Shield.

Jim Hammond and The Leader would make great one shots. Ecspecially if the leaders was him breaking out of prison.

Also a great list. Hopefully 60s Pym and Falcon get plenty of awesomeness in their upcoming films, though!

I'd really like to see a "What If?" One-Shot narrated by Uatu (though I'm unsure if they'd have the rights to him).

AHTK should be out anytime soon, with the didital download of TTDW starting today

Why, exactly, would Jim Hammond be in prison?

Lol I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I was trying to say that the Leaders one shot would be him breaking out of prison. Jim Hammond wouldn't be in the one shot. LOL!

thanks Poni.. good to see that you loved it..

Awesome. AHTK is great! I didn't love how they backpaddled kind of, but it is good to see [BLACKOUT]Hammer[/BLACKOUT] again and I had to stop the vid several times because I laughed so hard.

Where can i watch All Hail the King? Would love to see Kingsley's Slattery again.

I don't see it as backpeddling at all. S.Black didn't want to use the Mandarin the way Jon Favreau was building him up to be, so we did his own sideline thing that doesn't affect the real Ten Rings story that was already established in the first two Iron Man movies.

i agree.. i think they left the possibility open for a ten-ring mandarin to be introduced in the future, while showing a superpowered, techno-savvy iteration of the character

Superpowered what? We haven't seen the Mandarin yet. Like at all

i meant the extremis powered killian as a version of the mandarin

Killian isn't the mandarin. He's not any version of the mandarin. People are taking that one line of dialogue out of context.

He was actually quite close to the original Mandarin, a warlord whose karate chops could stand against Iron Man

I'm not comparing it to the comics I'm speaking solely in the context of the stories and characters the films presented. Pulling the comics into it leads to murky waters.

from the context of the movies, the mandarin is the head of a terrorist organisation.. thats all that we know.. he wasnt mentioned in IM1 or IM2, before trevor made his appearance in IM3

we never got to see the version of a terrorist head, since trevor was a fake .. but in im3, its never made clear whether the ten rings was still there or whether killian had some loose connections to them. or he faked it completely..

he did proclaim himself to be the mandarin though it is not clear whether he meant it as 'person who was responsible for the extremis/bombings' or 'leader of the ten rings'..
i think marvel left it open-ended to see how the audience would gauge it, and this one shot gave them the chance to take it in a different direction, even though we may not see it come to fruition till phase 4

Bingo. Have cake, eat it to

Yeah, neither side is going to win the "Killian is/isn't the real Mandarin" war.

The bottom line after AHTK is

that there *is* a real Mandarin, but he operated so far below radar that it's clear that Killian, Trevor, Tony Stark and even SHIELD had no idea that he even existed. As far as the MCU knows, The Mandarin was just an ancient myth. Killian and Trevor co-opted that myth without any knowledge whatsoever that there was a real Mandarin, or even that the Ten Rings were still around (Tony had, by all reports, wiped them out by the time of the Iron Man 2 prequel comic).

Stick a fork in Mandarin, he's done.

They backpeddled and retconned the existance of a "real" version so defenders of the screwjob could have a leg to stand on in their online arguments butothing will come of it in the movies, maybe TV though.

Killian isn't the mandarin. He's not any version of the mandarin. People are taking that one line of dialogue out of context.

Well they advertised Kinglsey as the Mandarin and that was a big lie, then they cemented Killian as The Mandarin with the dialogue that explicitly states he's the Mandarin, now that is a big lie.

Audiences have every right to be confused when they're getting dicked around.
