lol me too. It's funny when he's wrong. He brags about how film is subjective and opinions are just opinions but I don't think he believes what he is saying most of the time.

Yeah, you're right. I hate how he thinks Oscar bait isn't a thing too. It totally is, he's a bit pretentious. Will be anxiously awaiting tomorrow to see him put in his place!!

I mean civil war was a bit tricky since those initial talks broke down. It's possible certain specific details about it changed and Marvel could try to include Spidey in that film. We'll see.

Very good point!

John Campea has tweeted a bit about it and it sounds like he is trying to ruin the fun a bit.

Yeah I think he doesn't want to accept that he might be wrong just yet

This is a general question I'd like to ask in light of recent news and events.

Could Julianne Moore or Patricia Arquette be on Marvel's radar when casting the MCU Aunt May, depending on if they win Oscars?

I just want to say to every friggin "reliable source" that claimed the deal fell through: FU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry. someone had to say it

I'm happy that the Raimi vs Webb debates are probably going to be much less frequent now and that we won't get random clickbait rumours anymore

it's gonna almost be like those series never happened I'd wager

And failing miserably. He didn't even understand the deal and he's getting owned in some of the comments.

As much as I am on board with the idea of getting two movies involving Spidey in the next two years, I am still wondering about the capacity of his role in Civil War. I mean, the Russos must have a couple versions of the screenplay which allow the web slinger to play a role. I am just speculating as to what degree a role he might have. A post-credits scene with Stark or Cap? Probably....

A major 20-30 minute cameo? A little less likely but still a viable possibility. A full blown tritagonist? That would be stretching it imo

I'd bet on a cameo, but it doesn't need to be that long; maybe 10-15 minutes.

There's no way that's going to happen, lol. There's still going to be fanboys of both previous series.

Also I like John Campea lol... God we all disagree on everything. :funny:

10-15 minutes isnt a cameo. Thats a small role. Cameo is more like a few seconds to a minute

Props to Latino Review. I'm glad I never read their IW synopsis as that is probably true as well.

What is Campea saying exactly? Is he not in favour of this deal? Does he still want Spidey to remain with Sony? Or he thinks the deal isn't done?

I'm pretty sure Marvel would have a draft of CW that included Spider-Man, that makes sense. The problem is the casting for Peter Parker would have be be sorted literally in the next month at the absolute latest.

fanboys of course, but MCU clearly knows how to dazzle the general audience in the way other studios can't. this might just be THE definitive movie Spider-man as far as ordinary folk are concerned

He's basically saying that sony is still in control of everything

Holy s***. I just woke up to this news, and wow. I'm fine with it, but I actually liked TASM2 so I was actually kind of looking forward to TASM3.

Let's just hope they make this badass. Like I said though, I'm perfectly fine with this.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a costume ready to go

Yeah, but if they had different drafts like that, they probably have an actor shortlist for Peter Parker, and have had some discussions already. So things could move fast now that everything is official. I guess.

The custome could be made over the course of production and any scenes of Spider-Man could be pushed as far back as possible. If it is just a cameo they could get away with no costume at all with Peter Parker being the focus.
