You have a point, but we only got 5 minutes of that. I'd rather see Peter go through a whole journey where he pushes to get over Gwen's death. It would make for an interesting dynamic.

True, and that would've been nice, but I can't see Marvel looking at the death of Gwen and going, "Hey, we should do this over because..".

If anything, they'll:

  1. Not use Gwen - unlikely.
  2. Use a different Gwen - likely.
  3. Steer clear of that whole storyline - very likely.

The last thing Marvel would want is being associated with TASM2 in some capacity. That's kinda why I'm hoping Marvel follows DC and does animation DVD/Blu-rays using popular storylines to appeal to those that want things done as accurately as possible.

Everybody would win.

I'd be down for Spider-Gwen, if they found a way to make her naturally co-exist with Peter in the MCU. Maybe they'd combine elements of Spider-Gwen's canon with Ultimate Gwen? Instead of her being Peter's lost love/her losing Peter, she's one of his besties and lives with him and Aunt May?
I suggested the same thing 4 months ago! Instead of Gwen being a love interest, she could move in with Peter and be like a sister-figure to him.

Killing Gwen is just a scene, huh? Then explain why folks here are so adamant that TASM screwed it all up and that the MCU Spidey needs to "fix" it. Her death, in and of itself, is one scene... but stuff like that requires a lot of build-up and character interaction/development.

The reason that aspect was so horrible in TASM 2 was because how forced it was in the story, if they made it again the only real similarity with TASM 2 would be Gwen dying but everything else could be completely different.

Moreover, I don't think we'd be seeing the repercussions of her death the way that you and other fans would want to see them. Remember, Feige sees the MCU as largely being a comedy. We'd only ever get the type of drama that comes from axing Gwen off and Peter's reaction to that if it happened during Daredevil or something...

WHAT!!!?

You, sir, need to use that. :spidey:

Really like that idea.

With Bernthal cast, who is the same height as Charlie Cox, we definitely now need a Spidey who isn't taller than both of them. The visual would just be off. Give us Rowe or Holland.

yep!! :yay:

I can totally see sony using spider-gwen

Spider-gwen :3

I'm not against the idea of Marvel/Sony using Spider-Gwen, I just want to know how both Peter and her could co-exist in the same universe.

Why thank you, good sir! :spidey:

I actually like that idea a lot, the more I think about it. It'd provide a natural way to have Peter work alongside someone in his solo films, like how Tony works with Rhodey, Steve has Falcon and Thor has his Asgardian pals.

Moreover, if Spider-Gwen got a good enough reception, I bet Marvel and Sony would probably go for either a solo movie or a spinoff show focusing on her.

I have a crazy idea that could be very cool about how to make Spider-Gwen work that I'm almost afraid to share because I think Marvel would not use it, since they have a strict policy of not using plot points not even close to what the fans post online. I know I'm been paranoid, but yeah.

Or at the beginning of the college one. The tone of the movie would be all happy and uplifting, Peter and Gwen head off to ESU, the future looks promising, and then suddenly everything goes to **** and she dies.

...that would work.

The spider-verse will consist of every spider-man being from the same dimension :o

Spider-ham will simply be an alien from space

I think Spider-Ham could actually work, either in an animated movie or as some kind of alien like Rocket Raccoon. Probably the best time to introduce him would be during the Infinity Wars though where things might get a little more cosmic. Other than that, when Spidey is usually more of a street level hero, and especially if there's a team up movie with DD, I don't think Spider-Ham would really fit in with the tone.

Interesting, for those who think feige has a huge involvement
The next step for Sony, of course, is to recast Spider-Man. The studio is looking to go back to Spidey’s roots and put the character back in high school, which would require it to cast a younger actor, Variety has learned.

While Marvel’s Kevin Feige is involved with Sony’s new “Spider-Man” films, he is currently not expected to be creatively involved with the spinoffs, sources say.

Feige did say that the MCU will never go dark so I doubt we'll see The Night Gwen Stacy Died or Kraven's Last Hunt.

Chloe Grace Moretz would be a much better choice for Spider-Gwen imo, and she could actually carry her own solo film.

Chloe Grace Moretz for Gwen. Charlie Plummer for Spidey. :o

But the whole thing with Spider-Gwen is that she's not just Gwen dressed up as Spider-Man, for all intents and purposes she is the "Spider-Man" of her verse. You remove her backstory and her motivation and you don't even have the character anymore, in my opinion.

If you're just going to have someone get bit and dress up as Spider-Man and run around with him, you might as well do some variation of Cindy.

There's a way to use TNGSD without going dark. That's exactly my idea.

I think people misunderstand what he said, what he meant was that they would never use being "dark" as a gimmick in the same way DC did it.
