To get away from screen time and scene stuff. I wanted to see folks views on something. Even though this technically speaking is still a sony film. Do folks think the disney ban on smoking in pg 13 films that are not period pics and what not will still apply with spidey and jjj smoking habbits. Or do folks not really care if we don't see jjj smoking any more.

Does it matter? Smoking isnt a big part of JJJs character. His hate for SpiderMan and vigilantes in general is.

Ya I just wanted to see what others thought on the no smoking bad disney has now or what not.

read my past posts.. ive elaborated quite well... every time you post a quote about how they always knew he'd be introduced in civil war you act as if it means he has a good amount of screen time.. and that's not any evidence at all of the sort.

and awesome. glad spidey gets a massive fight scene. but i don't expect much more than that. he's clearly not playing a big part on either side of the war... or he'd be more prominent. a big fight scene also doesn't mean it's alot of screen time either...

again, look at quicksilver... he got a massive iconic scene that stole the film... but he was on screen for a very short amount of time.

There goal with spider-man is pretty clear... "Give them a taste, so they want to come back for more with spider-man.... and don't detract from the fact we are introducing panther and this film is still, first and foremost, about captain america. So spidey can not, over shadow Cap or panther.

Having low expectations is just a win-win situation, if he does end up with a big role it will be a pleasant surprise but it he doesn't, I wouldn't feel disappointed by that because I expected it. Kinda like how some people were SURE Spidey was gonna be in the first trailer of CW and well...

I don't believe Spiderman will have a ninor role, and that's all I'm going to say.

Exactly. Not only that, but the less spidey the more anticipation builds for him

It's kind of iconic to his character though even if it's ultimately unimportant. Cigars are just one of those things associated with his look, much like his suits

But if they dont. Will it really change whether or not the actor is a good JJ?

Would you consider Vision's role in AoU minor?

Vision was the creation of Ultron with and Infinity Stone imbedded in his forhead. Thats a substantial role. However if you remove Vision from the equation Ultron would still be trying to destroy the Earth and the Avengers would still stop him. So ultimately Visions role is not integral to the plot.

That could be said about anything. If you remove Tony Stark from the equation, they would have found some other way to create Ultron in the first place.

Vision was essential, in-story, to stopping him because he removed Ultron's ability to upload himself to the net.

Vision was the Avengers' winning card, without him Ultron would still be around. Thanks Thor. :D

Well it will be nice once we have more solid news to go by on spidey in civil war. And since film is only less then 5 months away. We are getting closer for news to drop soon. As looking at how news drops for solo from when movie is announced to official title, costume reveal and production stuff.

So again we are probably within 5-6 weeks for suit reveal/solo title reveal. Then once that happens. Come feb when we are likely to get 2nd trailer we could possibly see a peak at spidey ie like that one trailer with vision peak.

Then again from jan-april we will be getting details on more crew, and testing for x supporting players. Then once we hit june film will be underway and filming. Hopefully we will see a good portion of on location work, then just in studio work. Cause after a few weeks things did dry up on civil war news. Once they moved to in studio work and all.

So again we are much closer to things now. Then we where back in feb, then back in june once tom was cast. So def cant wait to see the veil of secrets pealed back.

Yeah, i can see that. (Also, is it weird that CDB kinda looks like late 90s Paul Rudd?)

Haha, nice comparison!

I just finished re-watching all of the 90s TAS (all done over the space of 2-3 years) and CDB is such a great embodiment of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. I'd love for Holland to take some inspiration from that series, even if it is quite old, there are great elements to take from that.

One of my favorite characterizations of Peter/Spidey came from that series, so I'd be onboard completely. Only thing I never cared for was how ripped Peter/Spidey was, but everything else I was cool with -- even the censorship and lazer guns.

the 2 movies are gold

 Just a lot of fun, really. :yay:

ya it blew how much censorship it had, one of my fav 90s toons.

I was watching some Youtube reactions to the Civil War trailer and I got chills just to think about how awesome it could be when/if they show Spider-Man in one of the next trailers

  I really hope he's revealed at the Super bowl. And if not, then definitely the final trailer with a quick tease of Spidey.

Suited spidey in 2nd or 3rd trailer I say is dependent on when marvel reveals suit. With hopefully title for solo. Which I still feel could be jan. Then that be in time for 2nd trailer which likely to drop by end of jan to early feb. And so forth.

Same goes if spidey does end up not in 2nd or 3rd trailer. We are still bound to have costume revealed before film is out. Again as solo is gearing up and various details on solo development will be coming out between jan and may.

And this what I think a lot of guys are forgetting.

My thing is, why must we see him before the movie? Why? When was the last time (barring Star Wars) that a film held back on showing something as big as that in the marketing? Where you went in without knowing and it blew you away? I'd love for that to happen here. We are six months away from the movie (correction: five months away). In about two or three weeks, we'll be four months away. There is a whole movie outside of Spider-Man's character that can be marketed without him.

Also, I disagree about there being a costume reveal before the movie. The solo movie starts filming in June. If they wanted to, they could withhold a reveal until after Civil War.

In the past the suits have been revealed during production shortly before set photos of the suit get out. So they can wait until Civil War to reveal the suit if they want to.
