That's what i had heard initially, but I was brutally rebuffed....perhaps it is true again....or for the first time, or whatever. Personally, I would love if it was only next-gen, the quality would be higher.

but the PS2 version usually is the same of the Wii version, not the PSP one.

actually thats wrong. the PS2 is usually on par with the PSP... the wii (though not by much) still has better memory, processors and graphics then a PS2.. just depends on how there utilized.

I said it makes sense that there isnt a PSP version with no PS2 one bc the PS2 is only slightly more powerful than the PSP. Technically they are very similiar which is how Sony designed it and thats why its been so easy for developers to port over PS2 titles to the PSP and vice versa. If a game is produced on the PS2, its not too difficult to create it for the PSP. For this reason, I would have expected a PSP version of MUA2 if the PS2 was getting one, but since it isnt, I can see why. The Wii is a completely different machine. Technically its on par with the PS2, but as far as developing its not as close to the PS2 as the PSP.

? Where are you hearing that it won't be on PS2? All of the major sites still list PS2. Keep in mind, Marvel.com didn't say it would be on PC, but it is.

Well, that's just them. You notice they also don't mention PC either but we already know it will be.

There seems to be confusion about which platforms get this game. Unfortunately, everyone is saying different things, so I can't really do good research. =/

Well, we can be sure it will be on PS3 and 360 at least and the videos and screenshots are (as always) from that version.

We just don't know if PC, PS2, Wii, DS, or PSP gets this game as well.

I would think PC and handheld. After the 2008 holiday season, I don't know how much attention PS2 will be getting from titles that would have to be made twice to support both old and new systems, or conversely, would have to be made less than they should/could be to work on older systems.

like I said before, any game that is made for the PSP, can easily be translated to the PS2. This generation, I think this is what will extend the life cycle of the PS2. With the PS1, it mainly got kiddie, sports and movie tie-in titles after the PS2 debuted bc there really wasnt much reason for developers to focus on making their big games for the system. Its different now bc of the PSP. That console is in a different market and getting original releases as well as ports of the big titles. Bc of that, the PS2 will most likely get those same ports.

Anyone know when the tentative release date for this game is? I heard Q4 08' at first but then it changed to possibly Q1 09' or something rather, but then an update that said back to Q4 08'. Anyone know the consensus on that?

No, this game will not release in 2008. It will officially release in May of 2009.
