Maybe they'll just refine it so it's better. I hated how simplified Bethesda's leveling system became between Morrowind and Oblivion, but then in Fallout 3 they tightened it all up so that it was good again.

I loved that stuff like healing, increased resistance, and increased critic hit rates were separated from the points used on powers. I hated the fact that whichever stats you could increase depended on which costume you were wearing. There were some characters that had me saying "I'll take the crappy stat increases. I'm not giving up this costume."

Oh, and what was up with not letting us touch the Body/Striking/Defense anymore?

Nick Fury was the worst for the costume thing. All his good stat boosts were on the Ultimate costumes, which sucked.

that was the biggest mistake about the leveling system in MUA. In XML2, you could build a character however you wanted by adjusting their Body/Focus/Stricking/Defense. Not in MuA. The only way to do so was to allocate the various icons you found throughout the game. They screwed up Ms. Marvel by focusing entirely on her energy powers and not on her melee abilites and strength so I pretty much had to give most of my striking icons to her at the expense of other melee characters. They really need to allow us to adjust these by the individual character as they level up

But his ultimate costumes basically gave us armed-to-theet Samuel L. Jackson to play in a superhero-game. :wow: How can something like that suck?

Some people prefer 616 Fury to Ultimate Fury.

I think Ultimate Fury is the only thing people still like about the Ultimate Universe.

I know very little about the Ultimate Universe but from what I do know this statement is true.

It's amazing, really. 5 years ago, we loved everything about the Ultimate Universe. It was all "Ultimate is so awesome! Why can't DC make its own Ultimate Universe? It would be so cool!" Then the Ultimate Universe ran out of steam. Like, all at once.

The Ultimate verse was really only created to cash in on the Marvel movies and it worked. The 3 big movie franchises that were released at the beginning of this decade were X-men, Spiderman and Fantastic Four and of course, they got Ult-books. The only other ongoing is Ultimates

Yeah, but Ultimates ended way back when Millar and Hitch ended their run.

And there's nothing you can say or show me that'll make me believe otherwise.

yeah, just being able to tweak a character's melee or health makes such a huge difference, especially in a game where they run the risk of having repetitive characters

I haven't picked up an Ultimate Marvel comic for years.....what happened for everyone to, well turn against them?

The Ultimates: Jeph "did he even read Millar's run?" Loeb

Ultimate X-Men: Robert "Invincible is apparently the only good thing he can write" Kirkman

Ultimate Fantastic Four: Nothing all that interesting past the first few story arcs.

Ultimate Spider-Man: General fading interest

I'm glad the Ultimate universe is losing steam, I never liked it in the first place
616 all the way

Kirkman writes The Walking Dead pretty well too. :cmad:

Ultimate Sam Furyson doesn't appeal to me. He's Sam Jackson with an eyepatch. Big deal. 616 Nick Fury's a much better character, as far as I'm concerned.

Ultimate X-men was at its peak with BKV. He left it on a very good note and then Kirkman came in and decimated it all. The current writer is alright, and better than Kirkman but unfortunetly at this point I really dont care about the book enough.

my biggest issue with MuA was that they dumbed down the levelling system. I hope they bring back the XML2 version and expand upon it but Im sure they will instead have a simplified version of the MuA one

**** yes. I thought I was the only one who noticed when i first played MUA, and realized it was the ******ed younger brother when it came to the options. Also, the strong attack going from being able to start combos to just being a 1-hit wonder pissed me off too. I hope Moonknight, Blade, and Elektra don't make it, they sucked imo. At the very least take out copies of characters, and just have extra skins(like Thing could be turned into Juggs, Hulk, Colossus, She-Hulk, Power Man), but I know that is only a dream of mine.

I agree on Blade and Elektra, but I thought Moon Knight was fun to play.

What about voices? I like that little note of authenticity. Wouldn't it be better to just give each character different animations if the same moves?

Blade and Elektra can be improved upon. Just need to make Blade more like Fury and Elektra more like Daredevil. Those were fun characters to play. Moon Knight just flat out rocked. The nunchuck attack and being able to switch between hand to hand and staff attacks was just awesome. Not to mention his extreme attack is probably the best in the entire game (Hawkeye's is just a knockoff. :oldrazz:).

+1

I meant to add that they'd have different animations for the basic attacks(and different voice actors), but it would be better for Raven to have 7 base characters, and some would have multpile versions. Tank=Colossus, Hulk, Juggernaut, Thing, Shehulk Scrapper=Wolverine, Captain America, Moon Knight. Balanced= Iceman, Spider-Woman, Iron Man. And so on and so forth. Some like Nightcrawler, Magneto, Storm, Cable would truly be their own characters, but many are close copies of each other.

On a sidenote, Raven making an Avengers game based on the beginning(plus favorites) would rock, and rock hard. Cap, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Beast, Giant Man(I have no idea how he would work, since he should be 50ft+), just a bunch of heroes that are relatively different than everyone else. And stick to 10 that are polished, not over 20 where it just gets too crazy.

Hank Pym has had numerous incarnations I see him being used as Yellowjacket if he were to ever appear as a playable in a game.

I should hope he'd have different skins because, quite frankly, I'd rather not see him at all than see him as Yellowjacket.

He represents pretty much everything that's wrong with Hank. The whole idea that he'd go back to that identity and remind everyone of how f***ed up he was when he used it the first time as a misguided attempt to somehow redeem himself after he'd already done that over the past, like, 30 years (real time) was incredibly stupid to me. Definitely the low point of Geoff Johns' run on the Avengers, and then Bendis, of course, took it and ran it into the ground.

If anything, I'd assume they'd use his Giant Man persona, but I still don't know how growing that large would or could work in a game....unless they have some amazing game progammers at VV that can factor in every hallway, roof or obstacle
