Well, the game's about 6 months out, I'd like to think they'd be shooting a trailer or a better website our way soon.
*fingers crossed*

I liked MUA a lot...I really hope this game doesnt suck

I prefer XML2, but I never got to MUA, so maybe it would've grown on me. The strong attack being a one-hit deal and drastically reducing the basic combos was uncalled for imo.

I'm so upset that X-Men Legends 2 isn't backwards compatible with the X-Box 360! I was gonna go buy one today, what a let down. :(

you could still do all of the basic combos- stun, trip, pop-up etc, and the chargable strong attack was really useful in the air, which was nice becuase you spent a lot more time flying in this one than in XML2 IMO.

Crossing my fingers for Blade to return. He was my favorite to play with. :word:

Blade was one of my favorite players too As soon as he was unlocked i started to play as him. But id don;t hink he will be in the second one.

yeah given the whole fusion thing, I think they might stray from the characters who center themselves on weapon-based moves. It'd be hard for every other hero to have a move to do with him, they can't all do a fastball special, especially with a stake in either hand.

The first one isn't compatible is it??" I'd love to play them again.

Is M:UA 2 going to have the special team bonuses again??

It's not on the list of compatible X-Box 360 games at the X-Box website. So I take it you can't play X-men Legends or X-Men Legend 2 on X-Box 360. :(

I'm sure they will.
I was hoping they'd do two and three character team bonuses. If Firestar made it in, I'd love to be able to play a Spiderman and His Amazing Friends bouns, with Iceman Firestar and Spiderman. That's be sweet.
And partner bonuses for Storm and Black Panther, Cyke and Jean, Sue and Reed, all of the couples

Jean is in this one?

if she is in it, I meant. I would hope so, but who the hell knows. Still no new info.

I played MUA pretty extensively when I still had my 360. I sorta miss it.

But, I still have my PS3....If I find it dirt cheap for PS3, maybe I'll pick it up...Just for the hell of it. I wouldn't mind starting all over again I suppose...and with MUA2 in development, it should be going for $10 on Ebay by next month.

Activision's marketing is pretty crappy for WOS...so I expect M:UA 2 to be just as bad (if not worse).

The game comes out in 20 days, we haven't gotten much of ANY information that's not rehash or a spoiler for the plot.

Activsion's marketing plan has been confirmed by the moderators of WOS's website to be geared towards casual and NOT hardcore. For hardcore is a very small demographic in the video game world (which is true). Activision really doesn't care if hardcore players don't buy their game...they want it to sell to the kiddies and people who just happen to stumble upon it.

Since they probably won't change this any time soon, M:UA 2 will suffer the same fate as WOS as far as marketing goes. Expect a few videos that spoil a lot of the story, don't talk about the important stuff, and blab on and on about Fusion.

Oh, and you have Vicarious Visions...which doesn't help things at all. =/

Activision has always played it smart with the marvel fanbase... with MUA they had there own forum which did reveal info several months before release date, but other then that, they let the name do the work, once the game comes out as well, they tend to go full force with there marketing. It hasn't failed them yet, and i highly doubt it will. Spidey sells, no matter what.

I know about M:UA, I was there as well.

Oh it will this time, have you been keeping track with WOS's main forums on SeizeControl.com? There's NO information about this game there, what we know has been stated many times, the developers we had to give us information left with no explanation as to why (even the admins don't know what happened).

The marketing will fail if they don't shape up, there's only 20 days left.

Spidey only sells due to his image and name alone, this is the ONLY reason why he sells. Behind that pretty package, the game is usually pretty mediorce. We haven't seen a good Spidey game since SM2.

Anyway, they aren't doing all the special stuff they did for M:UA, COD4, and SM3. No developer chats, no huge prizes, barely any polls and no surveys, no Facebook group or MySpace page. Activision's out of cash for one thing (I talked to the mods about this).

meh... the genral public doesnt even go to gaming forums... trust me WOS will get a lil bit of a boost when it comes out and that will be it, and it will do just fine. theres only been 4 spider-man games that of come out since spider-man 2... and only 1 would be considered in the same class.. and that 1 was the only failure... Ultimate spider-man appealed more to kids then spidey 2 and was still a success, battle for new york was a handheld so doenst really count, and frien or foe did pretty well for a game geared 75-85% towards kids. The only real failure in terms of quality (not sales) was spider-man 3... it was a disappointment. So we've technically only had 1 major free roaming spidey game on console (not counting ultimate), that has been released since spidey to.. so don't act like its been 10 years or something since spidey 2 came out... and just because the marketing might not be great for WOS doesn't mean the game will suck at all.

You clearly haven't hung around the WOS thread here OR the one on SeizeControl.com, the marketing is only one problem of many. As I said, we have little to no information. You're not getting the point, the game is not going to sell as well as it could because of many factors:

1. Bad marketing.
2. The PS2 and PSP versions are nothing more than sidescrolling.
3. Many people are burned on SM3 and FOF, why should they trust Activision with another game?
4. Spider-Man has still only had one good game out of the ones you listed. FOF only appealed because it was for kids. We were hoping it was a 616 game, not a piece of movie garbage.
5. There's a strong possiblitiy that there won't be any downloadable content.
6. There are many features that people enjoyed in previous games removed from this one. Such as no extra costumes, no extra playable characters, no extra missions (photograph missions for example).

The fact that SM3 did so horribly makes people not trust WOS and rightfully so. When the administrators of their own forums admit that the marketing is crappy, then you KNOW something is wrong.

Besides, you can't say a game was awesome on sales alone. Sales just mean many people bought it, but it doesn't mean many people LIKED it.

However, this thread isn't for WOS and I'm not going to argue with you over something that's pretty obvious.

Point is that the marketing is bad for WOS and don't be surprised if it's bad for M:UA II. If you want to debate and argue on this more, go to the WOS forums here, you'll understand then.

o ive been to the WOS it looks better then spidey 3, and honestly thats all i need, plus my friend over at activision (yes its right next to my school) has seen the game (hes workin on another one non related to spidey) and is a hard core gamer, and said it looks amazing, and plans on getting it (this is a guy who's never felt the urge to buy a spidey game in his life) soo thats all i need ;)

I'm sure they will.

The couple bonuses you get in M:UA. I'm pretty sure they'll carry that one over, if they do keep the bonuses for this one.

I'd take Firestar on my team. Hell, I'd like a more expanded roster with more of the actual Universe. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the first game or it's roster. I just think they should hold off on using all the X-Men, they've had two games, I want some random MU characters...like Sentry, Speedball..etc.

I'm sure it is amazing, even the admin for WOS's website says it's amazing when I ask him about it. Every one who's played the game online from 1Up to IGN to GameSpot even say it's amazing (even though they're being paid to say that...you still have the smaller, less popular sites that aren't being paid who also say it's amazing).

No one's doubting how good it probably is, but that's still no excuse for this kind of marketing.

Oh, did I mention that the PS3 version of M:UA 2 is likely to have ads in-game due to the recent deal with IGA? This has nothing to do with the marketing, but it's just a notice about what may happen.

I'm actually surprised at how they're handling the marketing for this game. I remember how MUA1 had a website that revealed characters like every week or every few days. They'd even email me updates. Wonder why the change?
