Marvel vs. Capcom 3

So quick question. What's the difference between Frank West and Phoenix Wright?

Phoenix Wright is a neat character, and Frank West isn't. The latter is basically just a generic nobody who had only a vague bit of character or personality, who would basically be forgotten if not in a game most liked. I know you were trying to catch me and all with this, but I really wasn't talking about the issue of fitting in with a fighting game. A nice attempt, but I really do think about the opinions I have :yay:

Frank's actually in a combat situation and has to fight.

Phoenix? He's a fricking lawyer. Frank fits. Phoenix doesn't. Simple as that.

Utterly and completely wrong when you've said it before, and it still is now. By these games' very nature, any character can fit with enough imagination. Hell, me and Brainiac came up with a fairly cool looking super just joking around on here. I'm sure just us actually doing some real work together (just us, fans, not developers or anything) could come up with a totally viable move set for him. It's a stupid logic, and this whole issue of fitting basically a way of hiding behind, "I don't want this character in it". Just say you don't want the character in the damn game, and quit hiding behind silly pretenses like that.

Even in Marvel vs Capcom 2 Roll and Servbot were literally the only people who didn't have a combat situation in their core games. These games tend to focus on people who fight in their franchise.

Like someone said above adding in Phoenix Wright is like adding in Aunt May. I don't hate the character, and if the game's worked different. I'd want him in, but these games just don't work like that for the most part.

You're trying to prove my point wrong, but you prove it right with your first paragraph. Their existence shows anything can work with enough thought and imagination put behind it, the 'it doesn't fit' complaint is paper in the wind. There's really no need to disqualify anything simply because of that, if anything, it'd probably be fairly interesting to see how something like that would translate into what I'm sure would be some whacky fun.

Like I said, if you don't want the character in the game, totally fine. I could do with literally half the roster crumbled up and flushed down the toilet myself, but the whole 'it doesn't fit' thing falls like origami to a flamethrower.

I admit I don't want Wright in.But I guess I can understand a bit why people want him in.I'm not a fan of Frank either.I rather have Strider over both of them but I know it won't happen.

Well, I don't know, has Strider been completely confirmed as never happening? I knew there was some rights stuff talked about in regards to him, but I thought the possibility was still there.

thinking of dropping my Special Edition preorder at gamestop and getting the standard version at a store selling the game early. ohhh mannn decisions

It's only a day away really.I say wait that way you don't pay for Shuma and Jill down the road.

the waiting is going to hurt on tuesday. I'll be on campus and won't get home until 5pm. garrrghhh

Works out for me since I'm working on a midterm paper right now and if I had MVC3 I would never finish.

I did all my work a week early, so all I need is to show up for class Mon. and Weds. and the rest of the week is Mahvel.

Well, mostly. Amazon promises release date shipping, but its status is still "Not Yet Shipped."

Hope you get it on time.By the way anyone have a complete list of all the MVC3 hype players who will be on PSN?I'm Venom8982

Hey guys! Remember how everyone here, and at Shoryuken, and GameFAQs were all panicked and constantly talking, talking, talking about Spider-Man for the longest (due to him not being revealed soon enough), he was the most talked about character on either sides, and now...

NO ONE talks about him. NO ONE who has talked about their future teams seem to plan on using him.

Just a funny observation.

I'm gonna main him for sure. He's my favorite character and the first one I'm going to pick right outside of the box.

It was about his exclusion, not how well he plays in the game. He's arguably the most popular Marvel Comics character and it took them quiet awhile to reveal that he'd actually be in the game.

Spidey will be a mainstay in my team (And I'll probably all my teams)...The Wise Crack team: Spidey, Dante, Deadpool.

I used Spidey pretty much all the time in MvC2, even though he's not considered God tier...or whatever...i worked out how to use him best and he's done me very well. I'll be doing the same with MvC3, if only because Spidey is flat out my favorite comic book character.

Spidey looks good in Marvel 3. Not great, but good. His Web Swing is very useful, and Maximum Spider is good for DHCs. But he suffers from the same problem as Ryu. Ryu is overshadowed by Akuma's presence, and Spidey is sidelined by Taskmaster, who has Mighty Swing plus a huge list of moves.

I have my own strong feelings about "fans" who push for characters in these games and then never play them. But Spidey has potential, like Cap and Wolverine.

I just play as the characters I like.I never pick a character based on what "Tier" they are.

agreed ^! Tell you the truth, I'm really bummed that Venom isn't in this one. His specials were great and his Venom-Rush was invaluable for fighting the last guy's first form without taking much damage. My main team in MvC2 was Spidey, Venom, Wolverine.

I would be down with adding Aunt May. Her hypers could include making terrible wheat cakes, installing guilt, and being a nosy old bag that might compromise your secrets.

I know there are online reviews, and Game Informer reviewed the game. And Famitisu magazine. All positive. Like, highly positive. Like, 8.5-9s out of 10...

I understand the demand for Frank now.I remember when capcom said fan demand will affect future DLC.I would not be excited about Elektra. If they throw her in and not Gambit I will be pissed but hey I will still play the game and despite the fact that capcom listens to the fans at the end of the day it is their decision who they include as DLC.In the meantime we all must bask in the awesomeness that is Marvel vs Capcom 3 1 more day to go folks!!!!

I hate you all who get it tomorrow. :argh: We in the EU have to wait till the 18th. And even then I might get it later, because I ordered the US version.

If I'm lucky, I'll probably get it around 18 over here too.
