This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]361571[/split]
Thinking of giving Iron Fist a run, how hard are his rekkas to keep track of?
Very easy, had them all memorized once I did a few of his missions. His mix up potential is crazy good and the damage he delivers is the ultimate pay off.
So do you generally have a couple bread and butter strings that you apply to a couple different situations (ie, starting on the ground, or hitting someone that's in the air)? Or do you really have to mix and match the different rekkas on the fly? If I just have to memorize a couple of strings I think I'll be good, but I don't know if I'll be able to handle it if it's more like memorizing Dante's different strings for different situations, as those look a bit complex to me (though maybe it's just the double motions Dante had to use that made it seem that way to me).
I know Iron Fist struggles when it comes to air battles, but how is he at converting a combo if you manage to hit somebody out of the air, while you're on the ground?
How hard is it to string his rekkas together timing wise? Is it like Fei Long's strings, or like Kyo's from KOF? It seems like it might be a quite bit easier than those two, as I don't see a whole lot of players drop them once they manage to start a combo.
That's the main reason I'm interested in him, since the tough part seems to be starting a combo, as opposed to executing it (just based on observing people playing against me with him), and my strengths tend to be the opposite. Decent at opening people up (at least with Wesker, and as weird as it is to say, Iron Fist's movement reminds me of Wesker's quite a bit, just without the teleport. Wesker struggles with anti-air as well), but I've never really been a great combo artist. I can get down what I need for the most part, but trying to use Nova has shown me that I suck at link-style combos that require very strict timing, with irregular timing beats between the different moves. The faster I can just input the buttons and have it all work, the better.
Also, we still need to start that Hype tournament! We're up to Part 6 of this thread, there must be enough people in this thread that have Ultimate to get one started.
I'd be good for a Hype tourney too... Once I get good. I'm struggling on finding a team since this game has so many cool characters.
I think I want to main Trish/Frank & someone out of Cap, Hawkeye, Deadpool & Ryu.
1 second per rekka? That sounds pretty forgiving, and supports how it looks when I see people do it against me, so that's great.
I'll be happy to organize and set up the XBOX side of a hype tourney, if you're on the xbox just PM me your gamertag and I'll start a list and start figuring out some times that people could do this. I assume Dodgers and Pat are in, Superferret as well I guess. Just PM me if you want in.
I'll just save time and not enter a tournament.
Well. I'm thoroughly staying off line for this. If you put someone into a corner and that's the only way you can fight. Then lame. If you have to spam Vergil, Ryu, Dante, Akuma or Deadpool also very very lame.

I might be interested in playing later tonight, Iron Fist. I got the game over the weekend and have only played offline a few times so far. I'm very rusty since vanilla and am trying to get better, if you don't mind putting up with that I'd love to play maybe around 7-9pm PST.
My PSN name is SpideyForPrez. What's yours?
.... but... almost everyone on-line does at least... one of those... OTG/corner combos are the ideal method of winning, yeah?
