My main team will consist of Captain America, Shuma-Gorath, and She-Hulk. :woot:

you dont find it at all cheap or unbalanced that one character can take out an entire team in 8 seconds?
not if those guys spent their time learning all that and achieving that level of skill... would you be mad if you were that good? no you would be proud of your skills... yea if your not to that level it does suck but they achieved all that through time dedicated practice... that's something you should strive for not hate on or let it stop your from enjoying the game... that's why i mainly play with my friends

and that is why i stopped playing this game.

But why, that is pure skill. I may hate how powerful Sentinel is, but in the end, all are overpowered and useful to a person that knows how to play to their strengths.

It's a great game, and that clip just shows how deadly a really skilled player can be.

Sentinel is stupidly overpowered though. I mean there wasn't even much skill in that clip. What was it, 1, 2 moves and then just hyper combos?

he is beatable though... he isnt perfect.. his biggest flaw is his speed and size

Yeah, I know he's beatable, but I think percentage wise he's easier to exploit than he is to counter, hence unbalanced.

No, that was a very skillfull use of jabs, hyper, x-factor, second hyper, and a mop up combo.

I know that I probably couldn't pull off what he did in such an efficient manner. Hopefully someday, but now yet. Plus, even with his strengths, Sentinel has his weaknesses such as his huge target of a hitbox.

You do realize that this game is hugely more balanced than MvC2 was...right?

I mean it all depends on how you feel about how they balanced the game. They basically overpowered everyone. I mean, Dante is probably one of the most easily exploitable characters in the game, and he irritates me, but I can admire when someone knows how to use him properly.

eh....i dunno.. ive had more trouble with dante/akuma/chun li's then sentinel but thats just me

ye sentinel was worse in 2

Yeah, I dunno. Everytime i've encountered a sentinel they just put out a really cheap fight. While it's counting down, they walk right into you and try to walk you into a corner.

Generally I just use Deadpool and teleport behind them then take him out fast, or use a jumpy character to keep moving around, like Spidey or someone.

Well I never played 2, so using that as a reference point means absolutely nothing to me.

That is just a basic tactic you could use for any character. Akuma is a big offender in trying to pin you in the corner and combo you to death. This doesn't just apply to Sentinel.

bottom line, this game isnt for me. i dont enjoy being tossed around in the air like a beach ball during spring break without a chance to retaliate and even the playing field. i admit my skills (if you want to call them that) pale in comparison to probably everyone on this thread, but its discouraging when theyres such a steep learning curve to this game. ive been playing Street Fighter for over 16 years and this thing is just a totally different beast. i guess my brain and fingers dont function at the speed required to make any kind of mark in this game. and don't try to bring up simple mode cuz that thing is crap. i did worse using that than when i was learning to play the game correctly. and i dont have the time or patience needed to get up to that Sentinel player's skill. i just wanted to be able to fight with my favorite Marvel characters (X-23 and Jean especially) but i guess ill just have to stick to Ultimate Alliance...

Like I've said, all skill aside, demolishing your opponents like that can't be fun for very long.

No biggie man....I could understand your reasoning, and I wasn't trying to say that your opinion was wrong. This game is a hugely different beast than SF.

Heck I'll never be to the skill level of that Sentinel either, but then again, I'm not one to play ranked either or at least I'm only playing it trying to get my five win achievement.

Other than that, I only play against friends in player matches. Then it's fun and less frustrating.

I'm good enough to win a few matches against the people here. That's enough for me, I don't strive to get better.

Before I play online again I'm just doing the Arcade mode OVER AND OVER AND OVER again until I got all the combo's and everything down to an art

Yea, I've been using arcade mode to hone my skills...and plus to get all the endings. :p

Just play arcade mode on the highest difficulty for a while and that should allow you to win a couple matches online.

Practice makes perfect. Don't give up.

I've yet to buy MvC3 but this is what I do to this day with MvC2. I just play arcade for a while and then hop online.
