Before I play online again I'm just doing the Arcade mode OVER AND OVER AND OVER again until I got all the combo's and everything down to an art
Yep same here... all I do is play training

bottom line, this game isnt for me. i dont enjoy being tossed around in the air like a beach ball during spring break without a chance to retaliate and even the playing field. i admit my skills (if you want to call them that) pale in comparison to probably everyone on this thread, but its discouraging when theyres such a steep learning curve to this game. ive been playing Street Fighter for over 16 years and this thing is just a totally different beast. i guess my brain and fingers dont function at the speed required to make any kind of mark in this game. and don't try to bring up simple mode cuz that thing is crap. i did worse using that than when i was learning to play the game correctly. and i dont have the time or patience needed to get up to that Sentinel player's skill. i just wanted to be able to fight with my favorite Marvel characters (X-23 and Jean especially) but i guess ill just have to stick to Ultimate Alliance...

you do know you can break out of aerial combos right...?

yeah, and it doesnt work for me. besides that was just to illustrate my frustration, not the point my decision was based off of.

anyone want to fight me im ready for an ass whoppin lol

I've been going out of my way to try and figure out how to stop Team Aerial Combo's. I've gotten my dash down good. I love starting a match by dashing in with X-23 and starting an aerial combo first thing and then doing a team Hyper Combo after that. Lotsa fun!!

Damn. I'm 5 points short for the new costumes. Oh well, I'll just wait till I can buy some points then pick them up.

and that is why i stopped playing this game.

Speaking of Sentinel, I found this on Gaf.

Okay guys, lets all calm down a bit.....what is so impressive about this? P1 got rid of TWO of P2's characters quickly by burning his X-factor and catching P2 making a monumentally bad assist call and randomly pressing buttons at the start of the match...I would do the same...punish a mistake
Any time you are forced to play Phoenix that early in the game, its ggs. Thats just too bad for P2 for making a dumb mistake of calling a random assist at the start of the match

Also, ANY character would have killed Phoenix in one combo anyway

This is just poor play on P2

Yea I took out a Phoenix the very begining of a match with just one of my Ryu combos in like less than 20 secs lol

Well said dude. P2 made a hand full of mistakes that cost him the match, mistakes that a skilled player wouldnt make.

If anyone plans on getting a high rank, it's not gonna be easy. The matchmaking will get really strict and you'll end up fighting people with much higher ranks. The problem with this is that there are so few of these guys to play and practically all of them play Sentinel, Akuma, or Dante on their team.

Im ranked as a Fighter now and stopped ranking up bc of this. I think Im a pretty average player adn want to stick with other average players rather than be dominated by pros. Its what made MvC2, not fun to play online

the costumes are pretty cool, gotta say i like thor cap and dantes best

also the shadow mode is pretty fun, but you are stuck playing against the same team

9:06 PM PST, and I still don't have Shadow Mode. :csad:

How are people able to block so damn quick? I mean for instance if my opponent is only a few feet away and I do a hyper combo 98% of the time they're able to block right on the spot. However when it's the other way around, even if I'm holding the back button, it doesn't work and I end up taking damage. What am I doing wrong?

Well there is a that moment when the Hyper Combo is starting that gives everyone a chance to block.

You have to kind of do it like a split second before though.

No you don't. As long as you aren't in a defenseless state, you can block the hypers the second you see them activated. It's not that difficult, especially if your opponent doesn't combo you into a hyper.

So, my game finally arrived in the mail. But I just found out that PAL saves aren't compatible with the NTSC version of the game. Now I have to unlock everything again. :argh:

I find the only time I can't block a Hyper is when somebody combo's into it, especially if it's an Air Combo

I'll probably be able to connect to PSN in a few days. Is there any way to just watch matches online? I like just spectating sometimes and it's a great way to learn some stuff.

Not yet, I guess.
You can only watch their health bars go down as the match goes when you're taking part in a lobby.

Alright, everyone, give me a good reason not to buy the costume pack. I'm really tempted and I need someone to talk me out of it.
