Marvel vs. Capcom 3

If your spamming moves and winning, its because you haven't played some one who has a decent amount of skill and knowledge of the game.

Oh yea, any spamming tactic can be beaten with enough skill...but unfortunately, it's still effective against most players, which is why the leaderboards are generally filled with super high rank people that are basically just spambots.

For me, having fun is when me and my opponent actually fight using combos and strategies to defeat each other. If I lose this way, oh well, I feel like I have to improve on some things, but that he deserved it. If I win, then I feel like I earned the victory and deserved it.

There was this one time when I was really beating some guy then suddenly, he gave up. Just let me beat him. I even taunted him to see if he was really giving up. I didn't want that kind of victory. That's when it stopped being fun.

Yea, it can also depend on the characters u go with. Some individuals are much better dealing with lame-o spammers than others.

LOL, im guilty of that. Iv gotten my ass kicked to the point where i just said **** it, im calling this a wash, on to the next match. Then there were times where i thought i was a gonner and was able to come back. So the giving up thing really never is the right way to go.

Yeah, always push yourself to your limit and last breath. Don't let him have an easy victory.

I don't mind spamming in small doses, like I will rely on constant ranged attacks if I have really low health or something, or if I know how much health a character has I try to whittle the health down as much as possible before getting in close for combos, but seriously choosing characters with the intent purpose of just spamming ONE attack that is unbeatable just sucks.

You know why? Because even if you win everytime, YOU didn't win that, the game did. You're using an attack simply and blatantly, with no skill wrapped around it. You're hitting a button and the attack is doing all the work. You could essentially have one of those birds that dips it's head up and down hitting the button in that case. If you honestly get fun out of 'winning' in such a manner then I feel sorry for you, perhaps you're an only child or something. All I know is you're exactly the kind of person I don't like playing online with, in any type of game.

What boggles me more than anything is that fact that you said you could beat anyone with like 90% of the character roster and you STILL rely on the cheap sentinel tactic? If you're genuinely skilled and good at the game, why even bother with the doggy fighting?

Because that statement is more than likely bulls**t.

I already told you why. It's the most effective and time efficient way.

This times 1000.

I don't mind getting my ass kicked by aerial combos and well timed hypers. It's when I hear "unibeam" and "magnetic disruptor" over and over again that I start to not have fun anymore.

I finally tried Dormammu last night and his "black hole" attack was surprisingly effective against spammers (when I was lucky enough to time it right).

My best friend does that projectile spamming crap. He uses Iron Man, Dr. Doom and Deadpool and just spams the **** outta the long range attacks. If I get in close though it's game over for him. I pop a few good combos and he's done. Any spammer can be beaten

I refuse to believe that's fun for anyone.

Well if your petty, using those tactics effectively would annoy another individual, thus pleasing you in the process.

The fact that you are annoying someone else is the fun.

At least thats the only logical conclusion i can come to for why that tactic would be entertaining.

So I'm trying that Sentinel, Doom, Hulk team that was suggested earlier and good god am I bored. I actually take people down faster using my team of X-23, Cap and Hulk

But fun comes from challenge, and if you're just sitting there pressing the same two buttons over and over, it's gonna get boring quickly. It's also why one-sided matches are never fun. The loser has no chance of doing anything and the winner isn't being challenged at all. Sure, you may have a momentary feeling of "I. AM. AWESOME." when winning like that, but (unless you're a complete dick) that gives way to boredom really quickly.

It's nothing new. Spamming goes back at least as far as Ken's Hadouken in SF 2. That it's still as annoying now with whichever characters can do it in MvC 3 shouldn't be surprising.

I have no problem with cheap spamming techniques in a fighting game. Whatever works, its about winning!

It's about fun, and I've already explained how winning cheaply isn't fun.

Sadly for some people it is. What makes any online experience frustrating.

Same reason people say for using noob tubes. Its in the game, so what?. Bad way of approaching it. IMO

Purchased this bad boy finally, time to get my ass kicked! :)

I don't know what a noob tube is.

The fact is, play and become awesome on VERY HARD like me and you can beat anybody.

I love watching hyper combos.
