Marvel's "Fear" Event - Part 1

read the finale and wasn't impressed for all the build up for starks weapons and they are barely even seen or used, and as for the tease of the next "event"

[BLACKOUT]really jean grey as phoenix?, back again as much as i love jean a character. come on marvel [/BLACKOUT]

I haven't read the finale yet, but that does sound kind of lame.

Ok, it's finally done. Thoughts:

- The most meh-tastic Marvel event since I've been reading comics; made Siege look good.

- Where the heck was Thing in this fight?

- Aaron should(and probably does) have a good reason for how Hulk exorcised Banner

- I'd almost forgotten Bucky died until the shot of his funeral

- Where exactly is Thor?

- Details on Sin's escape would have been a tad helpful

- lol@ me reading that Battle Scars garbage, I'm not even sure I'm gonna read "Fearless"

- Why did it take Rulk, IM, Spidey, and Hawkeye to erect this tiny pillar? Minor nitpick

Mighty Thor #7 Preview

Jeez - now they finally tell us why maybe any of Fear itself should've mattered to us and why Odin felt he had to burn the Earth to stop him. Ya woulda thought that might have been a better story for the prequel issue instead of 21 pages of Sin *****ing about stuff

Cap's shield has been broken before, not really a novel concept.

F***ing Sleipnir and Bor. I guess that's from an earlier Ragnarok cycle because we know that in the current one, Sleipnir is Loki's child and Bor died by turning to snow and drifting away. That second part happened only like 2 years ago in JMS' run, no less.

*ISSUE #7 SPOILERS*

I was pretty disappointed at the two major deaths, mostly because those two characters were only JUST bought back from the dead within the last few years.

I expect the latter to be undone within a year. I hope the former returns, but I could see Marvel just sweeping him under the rug as the Avengers movie franchise really blows up.

I originally thought they'd keep [BLACKOUT]Thor[/BLACKOUT] dead for a while, but after seeing the cover for [BLACKOUT]Avengers Assemble[/BLACKOUT] and the horrible job they did editing him out...he'll definitely be back soon (probably before May).

it's just repetitive at this point. Like someone said in another thread, he's died more than Jean Grey. it gets ****ing boring.

The death/rebirth cycle is kind of a part of the mythical basis of the character, though.

But yeah, I could do with fewer "oh noes, he died!" moments. Especially when they suck, like this one did.

they killed him simply so he could come back for Avengers. It is all marvel does now kill and come back for a film.

It was odd, because until they showed him prepped for the funeral it wasn't even clear, to me at least, that he was dead. Also, he still has his own book.

Superheroes aren't as super if their dying all the time.

yeah now I'm wondering if this was all real or some what-if story.
I'm getting sick of this character dieing crud.

I would not mind at all if Thor pulled a fast one and molded Ragnarok/Clor into an Asgardian version and faked the death. But this killing is as lame as DC's universal reboots.

Finally read Fear #7 and the I must admit this storyline feels like it is was rushed hard from start to finish. Also Fraction just reeks of I don't know how to write a Thor story to save my life! Both Fear It's Self and the Mighty Thor have been HORRENDOUS since Fraction took over! Marvel needs to bring Simonson in for a 6-12 month run just show these guys how to write a Thor story! Hell Oeming would be just as good!

I hope Fraction comes here cause he needs to know that cause boths books SUCK! JIM is a little better but it seems that lately Marvel writers not been cutting it!? Marvel seems to put people on books that they don't understand or relate too?

I really liked the idea of The Serpent, but the execution on this book was terrible. This thing has been sliced up by so many people, that I have nothing original to add; just me too.

yeah I do too Kang. Thing tho like it's been pointed out, how can the midgard Serpant be Odin's bro if it's loki's child?
I mean unless they say this whole thing was some screwed up time line and not at all real I could live with the story.

Just blame Fraction! Fear could've been soo much better but Fraction doesn't get Thor or his Mythos so it falls way short!

GIANT waste of Immonen's talents. Hopefully he ends up on a book I read like ASM or an X-title.
