Y'know Corp, I understand where you're coming from with not liking Ms. Marvel because Marvel's shoving her down your throat. I really do. I pretty much hear the exact same thing from my brother. He hates Luke Cage. Hates him, for much the same reason you hate Carol.

But nearly all of his exposure to the character has come from Bendis. I know you read Busiek's stuff with her, but it sounded as if you were more apathetic about her than anything else, before Bendis started utilizing her (correct me if I'm wrong).

I like Luke. I started hating hearing about his "unbreakable skin" about six months ago, though. Especially when it does ******ed crap like prevent him from getting taken over by a symbiote. What the ****, Bendis?

I didn't read the last issue of New Avengers, but that makes no ****ing sense.

Doesn't Luke actually have unbreakable skin, though?
He had bulletproof skin initially, as far as I know. Bendis seems to have boosted it to the level of being totally unbreakable except against true adamantium, which can pierce even WWH-level Hulk's skin, which is fine, really. It's not the power that annoys me; it's his mentioning it every chance he gets.

Oh, and I may have misunderstood it because, frankly, it didn't make any sense to me, but I think Bendis implied that even his pores are somehow unbreakable in the last issue of New Avengers. That's why he was immune to symbiote-possession.

Next you know he'll be telling us he can hammer a six inch spike through a board with his penis.

The Carnage symbiote latched onto Silver Surfer for Christ sakes. Who the f' cares about pores.

Besides, if it were about getting into the body, Cage has still got ears and a mouth doesn't he? Ugh. Bendis.

That's just ridiculous. He'd obviously just dispense with the nail and hammer his penis through a board.

Pardon me--his "UNBREAKABLE penis!!!"

Bendis didn't boost his powers. He got a second exposure in the 90's to the substance that gave him powers in the first place. The clothes that he wears are also a durable as he is, which is again, not a Bendis invention.

I thought it was clever, actually. It makes sense that if no substance can puncture his skin, no substance should be able to penetrate his pores.

How so? Pores are openings in the skin, ergo there's nothing to penetrate there. Besides which, the Silver Surfer is fully contained within the silver substance that coats him, so he technically doesn't even have pores, yet a symbiote easily managed to take him over.

I didn't know about the second exposure, but like I said, it's not the powers that bother me. It's his need to state his powers out loud all the time, which I've noticed mostly in Bendis comics.

Stuff penetrates your pores everyday. Dirt, oils, water, ect. I don't mind that in addition to being an unbreakable man, Cage is also an impenetrable one. It'd make him useful in a lot of situations if Bendis was worth a damn.

If you were unbreakable, you wouldn't be excited about it? ;)

Yeah, Spidey used to do that with his Spider Sense.... "My Spider Sense is tingling." It always makes me chuckle when they have Peter trie to hide it, because in early stories he didn't.

That's definitely what it's comparable to. I got really bored of the phrase "my spider-sense is tingling!" too.

Just for future reference. Your b****ing rights for that have been revoked.
