Stuff penetrates your pores everyday. Dirt, oils, water, ect. I don't mind that in addition to being an unbreakable man, Cage is also an impenetrable one. It'd make him useful in a lot of situations if Bendis was worth a damn.

So then, when is he going to suffocate from no oxygen being able to enter his skin?

None of them. I'm not saying I hate all female superheroes, but it seems though that there is some sexism with our heroes. I think the average (male) reader finds it harder to embrace a solo female superhero and take her seriously. Many of us want them to be side kicks to strong men or want them to be damsels in distress.

I think the real problem is that we are only presented with the crap super-heroines i mean when has marvel or dc ever gone out on a limb and tried to make a)An interesting and uinque female super charatcer b) Who isn`t supported by the strength of an exist male hero/hero team?

I mean look at it really. Storm = X-Men. Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman = Spider-Man. X-23, Wildthing = Wolverine. Ms. Marvel = Captain Marvel.

And wonder Woman the only successful super-heroine who defies the above limitations is a bndage fiend. Wjhich brings me to my last point the perverted nature of comic book companies where every issue has to have something kinky or sexy in it. I mean i`m a guy i love kinky pics of women but if i am planning to spend a wad of cash on a comic book series porn normally isn`t the driving urge. Yes have the occassional hot pose but that should be the minority. I mean many of these titles spend more time showing t&a than presenting good villains and stories.

Because of the FF movies, I would say Invisible Woman.

Invisible Woman was one of Marvel's first female heroes. So I'd say her. I think they should introduce some serious female villians for Spider-Man. he has maybe two enemies who aren't guys.

I would say at the moment in the comics the main Marvel female character is Ms Marvel. She is one of the highest ranking individuals in the Initiative and is the leader of the Mighty Avengers, and it has been revealed that she has a big part to play in the Secret Invasion event.

I concur.

I saw Storm next to Spider-Man and other Marvel characters on a toothpaste bottle for kids just yesterday at Target, for instance.

Storm is definitely the most promoted female.

She's also the only Marvel female to have associated with DC's queen, Wonder Woman... twice!

I still blame the readers. One of my all time favorite characters ever is She-Hulk. Now everyone I know is all about Hulk! Hulk! HUlk! Why do we a need a girl Hulk? My answer is this: Because Jennifer Walters is a much more interesting character to me than Bruce Banner is. And most Hulk comics I've read, Banner is mostly the Hulk through the whole thing, breaking stuff.

Well, reading nothing but Hulk smash gets a little boring for me. I've never been a big Hulk fan as a result. But I think when Marvel through She-Hulk out there, they were forced to get creative. Because, Hulk and She-Hulk are so similar in terms of looks and abilities, the personalities of Banner and Walters had to be vastly different, and they were.

But in the end, I think the readers still want to see Hulk smash. See, I read comics for the characters and not for the plot. The She-Hulk books (especially Slott's run on the current one) had extremly likable and fun characters that I loved to read about.

Yeah, She-Hulk may have been supported by the mainstream success of the Hulk at one time, but Jennifer Walters has really come into her own lately. That character has been around for a long time. So has Storm. So has Ms. Marvel. If they were relying soley on the Hulk, Captain Marvel and the X-Men to sustain them, these characters would not have lasted as long as they have.

I still think most comic readers are fans of plot-driven-things blowing up-every ten seconds-action, but I also think there are enough readers out there who enjoy reading the characters that they will embrace a new character if she is interesting, regardless of her similarites to an exsisting male hero.

Just my opinion though.

Recalling more of this past year, Invisible Woman and Elektra were more visible amongst Marvel promos. With the arrival of every knew toyline Storm is the least visible. Wizard magazine has put Jessica Alba's Invisible Woman on their cover at least three times this year. This year's Scream Awards helped spread that character.

I haven't even heard of those things. Shows how weak those promotional things are for IW.

The only thing I think is supporting IW are the FF movies. BUT!!.... The X-Films were more successful than them. Plus unlike IW, Storm has been in successful TV shows and the X-Men have also had much more success in video games than the FF.

These 3 forms of media are the much bigger dogs than magazines and even comic books themselves.

Please, beauty products have better promos than films, so every female consumer knows Halle Berry and Jessica Alba. Those films gave better coverage for the actresses who served to promote to the heroines.

Fantastic Four has been animated more times than X-Men. So by that logic everybody should know about Invisible Woman before Storm. Not everybody plays video games so that doesn't help much. TV wise, Sue Storm has gotten more coverage this year. Next year Wolverine is leading a new X-Men cartoon and a new movie.

And how hard is it to type Invisible Woman? That's just lazy.
