So.... I already started this piece a while back but I lost my source file due some crap file management on my part... So based on low res jpegs I'm starting over.

As before, the intention is to do *****y teen version of some of Disney's best villainesses.

I'm including (clockwise from the top) Cruella de Vil, Queen Grimhilde, The Queen of Hearts, Maleficent, and Ursula...

With some of them, I wanted to stay pretty faithful to their general look... others I'm taking lots of liberties so the sketch doesn't sell it so much without color or details.

As you can see, I've made some progress on Maleficent.

Some early work on Cruela de Vil from '101 Dalmatians' for my "Disney's Mean Girls" piece.

As you can see, this is the flat sketch, then some cleaned up line work, and finally a flat color version...

When I picked this piece back up I re-sketched her (as you can see in my 1st progress shot of the sketch as a whole) but when I went to color the hair she looked really old. I tried a bunch of different things, but in the end I reverted back to my original design for her, because I think she still looks young with the half-white hair.

I may still use that sketch in this piece to replace the queen of hearts... not sure.

I'm starting to lay in more details referencing different Disney movies and the movie 'Mean Girls'.

Plus... I amped up the pink.

I'm gonna lay in some more references and then get to shading the piece.

Soooo....

I'm working on a cross-over piece between Disney Villainesses and the movie 'Mean Girls'.

In that movie, the characters make a 'Burn Book' to make fun of the other girls in the high school.

I've taken that idea, and some classic lines from that movie and applied it to some of the Disney Princesses.

Working on my entry for the February fanart contest! (sooo excited they're back and people are actually entering!)

The theme is 'Spider-Man', so I thought I'd do and Steampunk take.

I've made some real progress...

Here's the initial sketch...

I had a really specific color palette in mind, so I actually messed around with that first, before refining the sketch...

... and here's part of the cleaned up sketch with flat color.
