well, deep_thinkin suggested I do a wolverine pic, and as I've never even doodled him, I thought I'd give it a go...

I realized very quickly his head is a b!tch to draw, but here's the final result...

Thanks! Part of that 'distinct style' is intentional, and part is a limited ability, but I appreciate the compliment.

PS: The suit texture is the EASIEST thing to do in any of my pics... I just do conventional shading and the lay a low opacity layer over top that is nothing more than a checkerboard pattern shrunken down tiny.

"...boAdy LAngUAge!" is the single greatest moment in that movie, as you well know. Thanks for the comment on the Thundercat stuff. I just spent some time sketching the rest of the crew so I should be posting more of em here shortly.

which era cyclops should i do? I think the original cyc design is graphically the most clean and ultimately interesting, but its also kinda the most simple so it might be less fun to do. what do you think?

which era cyclops should i do? I think the original cyc design is graphically the most clean and ultimately interesting, but its also kinda the most simple so it might be less fun to do. what do you think?

I think you should do the blue cyk design with the open hair. i think it would fit in well with the blue/yellow wolvie costume. imo. either way it'll turn out great.

I think you should do the blue cyk design with the open hair. i think it would fit in well with the blue/yellow wolvie costume. imo. either way it'll turn out great.

Even though I'm nota huge fan of that design for cyc, I was kinda thinking the same thing. I'll get on it at some point. Gotta start thinking about the theme for this month's fanart contest first, though... its so wide open, i love it!

hahaha... yeah. I've seen that. Pretty sweet, although for me I think the transformer ship has sailed, since there's a movie coming out and I would like to be a little less 'on the nose', so to speak.

I was gonna do 'my pet monster', but after thinking about it I think I'd prefer to do something more structured, but still organic if that makes any sense.

So, I want to do something like and animal, monster, etc. that is very involved, not covered by fur (at least not over it's entire body), and the BIG MOST IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT is that it can't be too much of a crowd pleaser of a costume...

In other words, there has to be SOME element of funny randomness to it.

just striking up this topic has made me feel all kinds of unsettled, as Im realize I dont have a clear idea of what I want to do. I think Im gonna post a thread asking for ideas.

So people are doing WIP posts recently, so I decided to show some progress of my April contest entry...

Here's a scan of a quick sketch of my idea...
The theme is to do a character is a different era, so I'm doing 'Catwoman, BC'...

Again, It's only a start, but I always enjoy seeing peoples pieces unfold, so I thought I'd do it too.
