What's insane is I've thought
about making an Orko that would hang from a pole coming off of BattleCat, but I thought it would be overkill (as if it isnt already) and this freaking thing already weights an a$s-load. Still, it would be funny and it would probably only take a few hours... hmmm...

or you could befriend a midgit and dress him up...

Hahaha... yeah... things slow down a bit in the costume-making department with class, work, and going to the gym. I plan to knock the rest of the f-ing thing out this weekend though... so expect some updates later this week... some fuzzy red underwear updates.

So, not tons of progress, but I did finish the fuzzy underwears for He-Man, effectively finishing him (except for fake legs, which is in a way more a BattleCat thing). So I thought I do a post of the complete He-Man costume (minus the power sword which I'm doing last)...

DSC00355.jpg

And so it begins...

DSC00357.jpg

Here's the same underwear dyed red.

DSC00358.jpg

Here's Ther underwear with the fuzzy material hot-glued one (mostly while I was wearing them... I have a wicked hot-glue burn on my inner-leg that is AWESOME while running).

DSC00369.jpg

Here's the He-Man costume, to date. Again, still gotta do the power sword and make fake legs to hang over the side of BattleCat.

your crazy but that's cool:up: You got balls for sure

as much as I want to carry a heavy tiger around for like 6 hours drunk.... this way I can take off the tiger from time to time and still have a complete costume.

too late now...but it would have been awesome if you made a cup holder in cringer

it's never too late... and i think im gonna do that in honor of you.

Well, i did some more work this weekend and im in the home strech...

At he beginning of the weekend, the stuff left to do was:
***All 4 paws of BattleCat
***BattleCat's saddle
***Fake He-Man legs
***He-Man's Power Sword.

Today i got only a bit done, but aside from the sword which im doing last, the front paws are by far the hardest thing on that list, and they're done.

DSC00370.jpg

Front paw skeletons.

DSC00381.jpg

Padding added. Claws paper mached and painted.

DSC00385.jpg

Extra padding added around the claws, and green fur added.

DSC00387.jpg

Pads added to the paws... made of sculpy molding compound and painted black.

So... The front paws are done, but i didnt have the energy to attack them. Later. As for other progress...

DSC00379.jpg

Very basic early shape of the saddle.

DSC00380.jpg

The bottom of the saddle takes shape.

DSC00384.jpg

Here's the complete saddle skeleton on BattleCat.

So i still need to make the back paws, attach both sets of paws, paper mache and paint the saddle, make the fake legs, and the power sword.

and it ALL has to be done before next Saturday... AND I HAVE MIDTERMS THIS WEEK! I am so f-ed.

As always, let me know what you think.

Thanks! Not a lot of applications for this type of talent, but I keep the producers of hot glue sticks and ducktape in business.

For someone who grew up on zombie movies, I'm surprised you feel that way. Who do you think designs the make-up, costumes and props those films? People like yourself, sir.

And such an 'application' isn't limited to B-grade horror. Look at the outstanding hand-crafted workmanship done by WETA for LOTR. Dude, all those myriad names in the credits are just a bunch of people who like hot-glueing and duck-taping bits of junk together to make the fantastic seem real -- or, real enough.

Face it, you're cursed with talent. Translation: oodles of potential, a nagging itch in the back of your mind to create new things, and no clear way of satisfying it. Unfortunately, talent doesn't come bundled with the guts to do anything important with it. Those you've got to find on your own.

Join the club. We have jackets. :cwink:

-- END!

This is the home strech... The halloween event I'm going to is Saturday. I have a project due and midterm on friday, and a concert to go to friday night... Other than that its 100% costume, 100% of the time that im not in the gym getting my midsection in wearing-nearly-no-clothes-for-several-hours shape.

Tonight I started, and nearly finished, the power sword. I thought it would be way harder, but it turns out we have this tool called a 'dremel' that... well... it kicks a$s if you're making a He-Man Power Sword... word to the wise.

DSC00388.jpg

I'm just making this sword out on a flat piece of .25 inch thick wood.
I made a patern for half of the sword, traced it, flipped it, and traced it again. Then i started cutting it out with the dremel.... which is sweet btw.

DSC00389.jpg

The bulk of the hard cutting is done in this pic. The lower part of the sword probably took about 45 mins to cut out.

DSC00393.jpg

Here's the finished cut out. I also used a few other attachments on the dremel to smooth out the curves... seriously... go buy a dremel.

DSC00397.jpg

Here's the freshly painted Power Sword. Kick a$s.

Like I said, its nearly done. I plan to add a view details to is so its sweet, but as is I think its pretty close to the cartoon sword.

Still left to finish before Sat:
***Detail the Power Sword.
***Make BattleCat's hind paws, and attach all four paws.
***Paper mache and paint the saddle.
***Make fake He-Man legs.

Please give me your thoughts!

love the progress. :) hope you get to post pictures of your crazy night.

This whole dam thing is friggin' hilarious!! ROFL!! That is the gayest looking He-Man I've ever seen! Nice wig and boots and I won't even touch the shorts! I think you need some fake muscles...

Other than funny you did a really good job! That is one time-consuming costume you got!

I really really hope you get it all finished, because so far it is one of the best halloween costumes I have even seen.
