Days of Future Past Matthew Vaughn Is NOT Helming X-Men: First Class Sequel

Maybe even a Japan part 2 story with Yuriko then also some Russian action. I'm just sad we likely won't see her again. Prime seems angry and is trying to push that off on Fox and Singer. I don't care beyond what I wish would have happened as they aren't bastardizing the history since this is a really good established story but a good movie will get me over those lost hopes. If it's a bad movie, then I'll become bitter.
And that's completely sensible. Haha. :yay:

Origins was not Singer's fault. He had nothing to do with that. That was just a bad script and studio intervention. Singer made X1 and X2, he is more than capable at delivering a great X-Men movie. If you want a non Singer X-Men, you have X3 and Wolverine.

They're both a reflection of the the house that Singer built.

This could be a hard pill to swallow for some who felt that X1 and X2 were great vs just okay.

But I feel that if Singer as well as producers had taken these franchises more seriously from the start. I don't think films like X-3 and Origins would not have existed to begin with.

Plus 43% of over 2000 people voting for Singer directing on another popular site is the highest but it's far from unanimous.

So do you blame Tim Burton for how Batman Forever and Batman and Robin turned out?

I am trying to be nice but that poster always attacks Fox and says how great Marvel studios Is.He advocates Josh Tank on Days of future past so Fox will lose the rights to
Fantastic Four. There are those who will never be happy Inless Marvel studios gets X-men
rights back even If X-Men sits on self for several years.

This. This is absolutely how I feel about the Singer thing.

Yup, nothing to add as it is perfectly said. (Although I didn't like X3 I do enjoy watching Wolverine, its fun!)

I for one would love and much prefer for Marvel to get the rights to Fantastic Four, especially with all the cosmic stuff going on in the MCU. However with X-Men I think it has a bright future with The Wolverine and DOFP, so I don't mind the evils of Fox(:p) holding the X-Men for now. I for one greatly miss the cast of the first two movies and still hope for a X4 or DOFP to include those characters and not been erased and/or rebooted. I loved First Class and it does show a brighter future in film for the X-Men...for the moment.

LOL, Schumacher had no respect for the Batman franchise let alone what Burtan did. Plus Burton's Batman isn't under fire. Singers actions are. Which is why I brought up only 43% wanting Singer to take over in the other site's poll.

Now I wouldn't even put Elektra as low as Schumacher's Batman films. So using him as means to debunk my theory is a stretch. Both Burton and Keaton saw the signs so they respectfully passed on continuing so why blame either of them....?

Fox, Ratner and Hood all got too happy with shortcuts but not "Schumacher" bad.

Your going to use a site's poll to use In attacks on Bryan Singer.I hate to tell you an
online poll Isn't reflection of general audences.

X2 has a 88 fresh on RT.First Class a 87 and X-Men a 82.Only Marvel studios films higher are Iron Man and The Avengers.Batman Begins has a 85,The Dark Knight rises a 87,and the Dark Knight a 94.

This is going nowhere.

Well moving things along then. I think that Singer is rather reluctant on directing this upcoming film otherwise there would've been word of him taking the reigns soon after news that Vaughn wasn't.

After the Beanstalk's post production is complete who knows what other obligations he may have and it's safe to say that Vaughn's departure wasn't planned.

I'm sure he will do it if no one else steps up but I doubt he actually wants to. So if he, Fox and Josh Trank were on the same page why wouldn't they put F4 on ice for the greater film which actually has a release date and stiff competition (Hobbit 3) on it?

It took awhile for Petr Jackson to be confirmed to direct The Hobbit.Just because Bryan Singer wasn't immedetly announced means nothing. His agent said no comment which Is
telling. The fact he Is mentioned as top of list also means something.Singer was involved In devolping the treatment and Is producer.Jack the Giant Slayer Is done.He has no other directing project on Horzion.

And with all your antiFox and Antisinger talk I can't take you seriously.

It's not a 1-2-3 instant when signing on a film. It can take weeks.

Agreed....

But that doesn't mean what I'm suggesting isn't true. He's also the producer of several other projects. Which may require his immediate attention.

Which is why I say he's reluctant. And the longer it takes for someone at Fox to acknowledge that Singer is even in talks to become the director. I'm sticking to this theory.

I feel like they were on an awesome path with First Class and now that's gone. They are going to try and shoehorn as many X1-X3 actors into this and DoFP....to try and sell more tickets.

I feel the same way. I wish Fox had waited to do this after we got a FC trilogy. As it is, DOFP barely feels like a FC movie at all.

Yeah, I don't even feel like DOFP is a FC movie at all. It would be great if we could get a X4 and a FC trilogy going on at the same time. With maybe a Wolverine movie in-between. :p

I don't get that impression. All we know for certain isFassbender, Mcavoy, and Lawrence are set to star in this movie. The same actors that led FC. I have yet to see anything that suggests these guys won't lead DOFP. IMO people are getting way way ahead of themselves thinking this is going to be some big original cast reunion or some kind of an X4.

We don't even know what the actual details of the movie are, or how much time the old cast will actually get if they do appear.

If the main story is about preventing some catastrophic event, there's no reason why it can't centre around First Class cast. I mean realistically, FC sequel was never going to be some kind of 2-hour catch-up with the characters just to see how everybody is going and how they're dealing with their issues, like some kind of onscreen fanfic. There would always be some kind of central plot, like the Shaw/Cuba plot in First Class, which took up a considerable part of that movie.

People are just expecting DOFP to be like DOFP.

That means Wolverine, Storm, Kitty, Colossus & the elderly Magneto will play a role in the film.

It would be quite beautiful to have those characters!

i want Colossus back daniel cudmore said he would love to reprise his role he was underused and even in x2 i feel he made a big impression with the little screen time he got

I doubt we won't get them. I doubt Singer would sign off on dropping such a pivotal part of DOFP like the future faction.

I'm certain that the studio saw the potential of bringing together all the factions after the success of The Avengers and went the event movie route rather than the FC2 route.

I'm also expecting Franklin Richards to show up in this film as a lead-in to Trank's FF film.

yeah singer did say it involves the comic and many more ideas so who knows
