Max Series

Do you expect to root for the character in this series?

We are now used to morally "grey" characters in shows to give them depth, and I generally like that, but I wonder if I wouldn't be more interested in a "love to hate him" dynamic to the Penguin. That the engaging aspect of the story is that the villain irresistibly takes advantage of the "perfect storm" to rise higher and higher. Kind of like Scarface actually, even if the reference is very overused...

Of course, I don't know anything about the series, I'm just wondering.

I haven’t seen the Sopranos but this show seems to be using that model. I’m assuming people were rooting for Tony Soprano even when he was whacking other gangsters.

I was. :) I didn't agree with everything Tony did, but I still hoped he would come through okay.

No way in hell this show is ready to go by June, but I did find Tom King’s new Penguin comic in the solicitations released today.

Yeah! In a very Godfather style (like the wedding of Connie...).

Nice. :D Hope that means we get some great action scenes.

Nice. Loving these set pictures. :D

I think there is a good chance that we're going to get a early 2024 release if everything goes smoothly.
